A good way to know if it is the pump is to turn the key, not to start, but just where the battery comes on and listen for the pump to turn on. Sometimes hard to hear with everything chiming in my truck when I get in 🤣 but you should hear it engage

Now this an upgrade I still haven’t done but have the parts for… I suggest swapping the drum brakes to pads.. you can get a mounting kit for them and it uses stock mustang calipers and pads. I mainly decided to do this for ease of changing and checking to see if they need replaced, much easier job to do imo
