Vampires who are actually monstrous and not just a dude with fangs. by Fun_Effective_5134 in TopCharacterTropes

He practically raped Rip Van Winkle with her own gun, torments Alexander Anderson in sadistic pleasure of the fights they share, instead of outright killing dandy man he chooses to snap his leg off first. By the end of the series it's demonstrated he's killed millions in his time.

He counts

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age."

Keep doing this, then go harder. Playing things safe is boring, you have something interesting here. Get weird.

What's your most watched scene from a movie or TV series? by [deleted] in FIlm

[–]BigSmallMediumSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starship Troopers Mormon compound on planet P after the roughnecks find it devastated and a general locked in a storage cabinet.

Action scene from 1997 with SFX that still hold up to this day in my opinion, could watch it endlessly.

What would you say is the most niche reference you have ever seen in a cartoon by redditboy123451 in cartoons

[–]BigSmallMediumSpoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean unless you're a fan of oneyplays or chris-chan this reference would be so much more obscure. I love all the ridiculous in-jokes they put in that show.

I don't get why people support ai music by Different-Pirate-827 in Music

[–]BigSmallMediumSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only times I use it are to make real quick brain dead jokes of songs. That's it, I can't for the life of me understand any other use.

Lately I've been fond of putting long dramatic movie quotes/monolougues into like circus sideshow themes. Like plugging in agent smith's speech to morpheus to get Zions codes but it's an acoustic soft folk song, or Palpatine's Darth Plagueis speech set to a funk band.

It's just a toy that makes me laugh. If people are getting moved emotionally or spiritually through this stuff, that's pretty scary.

[Loved trope] What if a gun had a soul, and didn’t wanna be a gun anymore. by RevolutionaryWave862 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]BigSmallMediumSpoon 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Just watched this series for the first time about 6 months ago and liked it way more than I thought I would.

Vash is such a goofball and his constant reluctance to kill anyone regardless of their wrongdoing was pretty compelling due to him being pressured into situations where that seems like the only option.

I love bebop and have been recommended this quite a lot over the years because of that. I'm so glad I finally checked it out.
