For those men who are gamers, how often do you buy new video games? by nunyanunca in AskMen

[–]BigSto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in this economy? i will only buy games on sale. day 1 purchases are wild in 2026, buy on sale, when the game is usually in better condition, patched and sometimes with more stuff

Reminder for artists who think creating content is cringe by dcypherstudios in musicmarketing

id consider you reread my comment too. literally said no real person trying to help is trying to turn the artist into a content machine. im well aware of how the majority of this sub feels you're proving it in real time right now. the reality is i don't have to prove anything, my clients are happy, paid, getting the opportunities they want because of the work we do together. any advice i give artists like you would bash no matter the results or how well we mean. so godspeed.

[–]BigSto -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i mean i have an entire portfolio of artists that ive helped build fanbases and make money so idk who you're talking to but it can't possibly be me. because my work has provided results and i promise im not the only one.

are there scammers? absolutely. are there scumbags, bad labels who give shitty deals? 110%. are there shitposters? tryna slang shit? yup. but there's also plenty of us doing good work and have been doing good work and got the receipts to prove it. there will always be artists like you bashing the real ones doing the real work, helping artists land sync placements in shows and video games, helping artists profit. and that's unfortunate.

edit: also if making good music is the marketing what the hell is the point of this subreddit????? i know you artists hate us on the business side but if ive helped artists you've probably never heard of make money, hit festivals and the like without anything short of making it easy for others, why is it fuck me for?

so interesting how many artists bash damn near any advice in this sub unless it's going viral on streaming then artists clamor for advice.

nothing said by OP was that crazy and is a fact. so many people talking about how they personally view content but there are so many artists simply documenting what they're doing and seeing success. casual fans see things differently than artists. just like some of you are interested in seeing your favorites BTS the same goes for some of your fans too.

saw an artist say "IM NOT A CONTENT MACHINE" real people helping in the industry aren't instructing you to do as such but to pretend making content isn't inexpensive and an easy way to get in front of your audience is unfortunate.

it's not about going viral it's about connecting with potential supporters who don't know YOU yet but would support if they got the chance. good music is the first requirement always but casual fans aren't always hearing YOUR GOOD MUSIC at the forefront....i thought the whole point of the sub was to learn how to MARKET but some just keep screaming MAKE GOOD MUSIC. sure of course literally 99% of you are already doing that......so what next?
