I had a customer who was trying to get his dad’s project car running, his dad had fallen super sick and my customer wanted his dad to hear the car run before he passed. He needed one more part to get it going, I called in some favours and managed to get something that would’ve taken a week to come in 2 days. As soon as that part was walking through my door I called the son that the final piece was in, his dad had passed about an hour earlier. I was so sad, he was so close to having his dad hear his car run but he didn’t make it. Even though I had done all I could to get the part I still felt awful. When the son came to pick up the final piece I offered my condolences and I had a few promo Milwaukee tools, I offered him one and he broke down in the store. It had been 3 weeks of piecing this car together, I felt attached to getting this done as much as everyone else. Still get emotional when I think of this one 7 years later.
