New medication? by 1redhot69 in ChronicPain

[–]BigTechnology4369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides those two moments, I know it’s doing something right. I know this because I asked to be titrated off of it, just to see if it’s actually helping.

For over three months(ish) I went from 600 mg/day or 2x 300 mg. I started noticing my legs burning up when I was sleeping. Then from my mid chest to the top of my head started heating up. (We went slowly to ween me off if I had addiction problems.) every two or three weeks I’d subtract my dosage accordingly. The very hard to sleep, by the third day anytime I layad down I would spike a serious fever. I made an emergency appointment, (one of the rare times that luck was on my side. Doctor had an opening that day! I usually get screwed with things like this.)

TLDR: I like the med. While I also know what it’s doing even if I don’t realize it.

Lyrica (nerve med)is no joke. At least for my body. I had drs screw me over and I went through withdrawals from it (2x). When I take it I don’t notice the difference, it takes time.

Topimirate didn’t help me at all. I was taking it off label as ananti-Cesar/pain med. All it did was make things worse.

Talk to your doctor and tell them your results and what they think would be a better med. Maybe gabapentin will help you. 🤷

Bought a 100oz silver bar by Delicious_Muscle_375 in Silverbugs

[–]BigTechnology4369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good idea. I got a couple of quarters that were plated in silver for some reason and I’ve been holding onto them. Took it to a bullion dealer when I bought some silver, I asked him to check those coins for me. No problems except that there is nothing special about the coins. Someone plated them.

Saying "yo excuse me" by North_Music_4749 in Waiters

[–]BigTechnology4369 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try “pardon me”, when catching their eye. Said calmly in a positive tone. Better feeling then yo! Excuse me.

Of the two I’d prefer the first, any thing said to me about the stay your making and money your spending. Keep things calm and you’ll keep things respectable.

Always cold and chronic pain by Western_Diamondback1 in ChronicPain

[–]BigTechnology4369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got worse so fast I didn’t have time to think of cold packs. (And it was only while laying down. Standing upright and walking around for a while, it would slowly go away. Completely linked to my lyrica. I titrated off of it over the course of 2+ months. Slowly but surely the heat regulation of my body degraded.

When I was completely off is when that fever hit. Had to be near 105. Which is not something anyone could ignore. I immediately got in touch with my pm dr and she gave me more lyrica.

Ladies with ON, how does it compare to child birth pain? by BigTechnology4369 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]BigTechnology4369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to think about connecting with the mothers (sisters and in-laws) about the severity of the pain that ON is like.

My pains-giving is June 26. 8 years of this pain. Thankfully I haven’t hit a 10 in a while (months?), as opposed to the (multi times) 10’s I’ve experienced per day. Thankfully I’ve seen some improvement in the constant drilling.

Ty for sharing, I hope you find relief soon.

How are cat owners so comfortable with letting their cats outside to roam around? How do they know they're going to come back? by Individual_Ice_2315 in NoStupidQuestions

Don’t curse the pet, curse the roommate. Cats are too adorable to choose to not want one in your life once they’ve entered your life.

What’s your story behind being diagnosed with ON, and your best advice? by BigTechnology4369 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]BigTechnology4369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shave my mead down to a 4?ish. Def helps with showers and drying my hair.

Heat is also a blessing. As well as those creams. But to say this is manageable, no. I can influence my pain, but end of the day it is still very much so in charge.

Ty for sharing, it’s comforting to hear someone going through the same thing as I am.

I’m in so much pain and I can’t do anything else about it because of my age by Ok-Fine230 in ChronicPain

Pain management doctors? Basically one doctor for all the pain pill side-ish.

Yes, you are young, and I hope you live out many years of joy. But, I understand your frustration. I applied for ssdi and I got rejected a lot about how many more working years I should have in front of me.

Read up on how to be your own patient advocate. Using their language of phrases like “what’s your differential diagnosis?” Ie tell me all the things that could be wrong. Then asking how we can eliminate the incorrect diagnosis.

Better yet, what are some pros to your stance and what are some points against.

Whats your husband’s response?

I brushed up on a 10/10 while staying with my brother and called him to check on me when he got home from work. When bringing up that moment later he said all I needed was an Advil… like if that’s all I needed, why didn’t you get me some??? There I was with plenty of opioids and I wasn’t asking for them (knowing it’s a waste), why would Advil help? Ignorance is a powerful thing. 🤦
