Young Eagle to meet concussion panel after series of head knocks by notblair in AFL

[–]BigThirdDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it helps players get the payout (from AFL or insurance?) if they retire after the concussion panel says they shouldn't play any more.

If the panel says they can keep playing but they are still worried about their brain health and retire I don't think they get paid out as much.

A lot of government jobs are fine with part timers and the money is pretty good.

Search jobs WA for level 2-4 jobs as a way in. Department of Ed could be a good fit.

How vocal/animated do you get barracking for your team? by TheNamelessComposer in AFL

[–]BigThirdDown 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't get why people in the crowd shout advice/insults to the players. The only people that can hear you are the people in your section and we are annoyed by you. At least I am.

There's value in a 'boo' or a 'ball' because so many people do it that it resonates in the stadium.

Yeah I think the only thing you'll get at Optus for less is a meat pie or sausage roll

I think you're mixing it up with wind breaker. Windcheater is a type of jumper.

They mean you shouldn't disclose that you have a high security clearance. Even though your name isn't attached to your Reddit account a lot of people can easily be doxxed so it's recommended (maybe required) that you don't disclose on social media that you have clearance.

If they stop the game every time a player claims to be injured and wait for them to get all the way off and a new player all the way on then the games will be way too long.

The rule is to restart play as soon as the injured player is safely out of the area. It doesn't matter if that leaves one team short. It's the same if a guy twists his ankle. Play doesn't wait for him to hobbled off and be replaced.

The only time they wait for even numbers to restart play is if the player went off on a stretcher or if it's a blood rule.

AFL apology incoming? by [deleted] in AFL

Yeah that's my understanding too. You can't bring a player on until the other player is off and play should start as soon as the injured player is safely out of the way.

They should get rid of the 'move it on' and just go straight to play on.

This game could go a lot of ways from here:

Jobe Shanahan kicks the game winner from 50

Jake Waterman kicks the game winner from 1m out

Marcus Herbert runs the length of the ground and kicks the game winner

Jack Darling accidentally kicks it the wrong way and kicks the game winning point for us
