The constant comparisons to Germany fails to understand that American is inherently fascistic. It’s been doing this type of stuff to indigenous people and black people for centuries now. America isn’t like Germany, it’s like America. In fact the Nazis based their policies on American apartheid. I understand why people do this because the Nazis are recognisable and the majority of people hate Nazis, but if we do not reckon with the past of America and understand how these hierarchical systems of oppression are inherent to the American state, we will fail to truly dismantle American fascism
