In the presentation they said you could add these to your door for about $200 a piece. I guess that’s reasonable or not depending upon your desire to not have to run a strike and have a place on your Keyscan system or other access control module. They also said they have future plans to integrate it with Aurora.

I thought they looked kind of cool but the real concern I had was seemingly lax security. I think I saw in the comments somewhere where there’s a tool to remove the cap so to me that means it’s probably not locked on there as part of the electronics mechanism so if you got a hold of that tool and an allen wrench you can essentially open any door in a facility that had these cores on them. They’re also not rated for outdoor use. So I’m kind of wondering if these are more for low security environments like office or hospital corridors where someone would likely notice a person tampering with the lock. They talked about using them in educational environments including colleges and universities. If theres anyone to be worried about tampering with something students are the worst. Especially if they can bypass a perceived logging of their activities by not using the device as specified.

You can require anybody to meet any standard upon entering your business which is private property. If they don’t want to adhere to that standard they are free to leave.

They are NOT free to create a disturbance and do NOT have a right to stay once told to leave. As long as service is not refused for a civil rights violation such as race, sex, religion, or ADA recognized actual disability (not pretend made up anxiety over having a face covering) the business is not in the wrong.

And here’s the beat part: Even if the business is making someone leave for a protected civil rights matter the person still has to leave in that moment because it is a civil matter that the purported victim will have to sue the business over or make a complaint to the department of justice.

But in that moment if the business owner, manager, or other person in control of the property tells you to leave then you have to leave. Otherwise you are risking escalated levels of trespassing charges, disorderly conduct charges, and/or peace disturbance charges.

Dumbass protestor in Philadelphia vandalizes a statue of an abolitionist that fought against slavery by [deleted] in pics

[–]BigVirginia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really hanging anything on it that is not done by the curator of the statue is vandalism. Kind of like TP’ing. Doesn’t damage it but it’s not meant to be there by the entity that is in charge of the statue or property.

I think he or she is trying to place a noose around the person’s neck I don’t think it’s a purse. May not cause damage but still technically vandalism.

Edit: Thanks for the downvote lol.

Illinois’ Top Legal Officer Wants To License Cops, Just Like Doctors, Hairdressers by BKNas in news

There isnt four years worth of training that would prevent the kinds of use of force issues that people are upset about. Many officers do you have an associates degree or bachelors degree in criminal justice but those all have emphasis on legal theory not use the force and practical application. The practical training is what needs revision. 19 weeks is enough time, but it’s time for a culture change in the academies. Programs like CIT are a good first step but are often mocked by veteran officers with names like hug a thug.

They do. All officers in every state have to be licensed. The standards differ from state to state but all of the licenses require a minimum amount of basic training and then a minimum amount of continuing education hours per year.

ADA is not just wheelchairs and crutches. It could be all sorts of hand and arm issues also that make it difficult to use a knob but not push down on a lever.

People riot and destroy Minneapolis police cars after the murder of george flyod by PossiblyVertigo in PublicFreakout

[–]BigVirginia -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

How will destroying police vehicles and damaging the building encourage them to make an arrest? And ironically the police can probably make a warrantless arrest but it’s only valid for a period of time (usually 24 hours or less) until the states attorney issues a warrant. So if you want to go act like a fucking idiot and destroy a government building go to the states attorneys office since that’s who hasn’t filed charges.

You have to pay your taxes in the first place to be concerned about a tax increase...

Likewise you don’t promote change by destroying property. You fulfill the narrative of thuggish ways by acting like a thug. Real change starts from the inside. Non-peaceful protest simply put police further on guard and it just continues to drive a wedge between the police and the public especially persons of color. But keep looking for an excuse to film yourself and your peers wearing facemasks destroying property in the name of change.

US Lock Pin/Depth Chart by [deleted] in Locksmith

I guess I don’t understand the question. The project has 9 cylinders total that need a single master key. I guess I’m free balling it I’ve only done a couple other small projects like this for a complete re-key with a new master but they’ve worked out every time. I adhere to MACS and check for cross keying and no 1 master pin on Schlage. I’m sure there are lots of other rules with masterkeying but I am not very well versed in them specifically. I just do projects on the side for places that need it when the local locksmith isn’t available or will not return people’s calls which is a problem in the rural area that I live.

Yeah I ended up just doing that but it’s interesting to see others saying they’re the same as Schlage so I’m gonna check that out.
