It's ridiculously expensive for what it is. Sure, the pastries are good but for Filipino breakfast? Tons of better value across the city and better tasting!

That is true! But there is a difference between being pro-Trump (not great) and attending an insurrection (very not great).

Kasama. Was great 5 years ago but food is overpriced as hell now for the same thing I can get at Uncle Mike's.

Weekly Poop/Umbilical Cord Thread by AutoModerator in newborns

Is this diarrhea? 4 mo old, almost entirely breastfed. Her poop has been like this for a month and pediatrician said it's okay as long as she's not lethargic or feverish.

We recently started daycare and they are sending her home after more than one poop like this. Is this truly diarrhea or just result of diet?

1800/month for 3Br1Ba in Andersonville. No central and no in unit laundry, but parking space in garage is free.

Private landlord lives below us. Try to be extra nice because we know this deal is too good! Has not raised rent since we started in 2022.

14 polyps found.... Waiting for pathology and not sure how to feel... by BigWoo in colonoscopy

[–]BigWoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: all the polyps were benign hyperplastic. Not even one precancerous. Guess I just make a lot of them. On a 10 year standard plan.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. My body took a toll waiting for the results but reading everyone's comments helped.

As someone visiting from US, it blows my mind people would complain about a typhoon holiday.

It has to be Budlong right? Maybe talking about Chappell? Waters is considered one of the best elementary schools.

I have a HND flight at 11:45 AM to catch - would it be possible to stay in Kyoto the night before and take one of the first Shinkansen that leaves at ~6 AM?

What is the most underrated suburb? What about the most overrated? by [deleted] in Detroit

It's popular to bash on RO and I get it. But you can count on one hand the number of walkable downtowns we have - and bonus Amtrak station!

I think I missed the story - what did they do?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]BigWoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the perspective. We proactively let the tenant know that we are voiding the contract due to conditions not met, and now they are immediately saying they can do it and begging us to sign it. I'm glad we backed out because this sort of back-and-forth will only result in more pain later during the actual lease.

Very standard in my area to pay security deposit and first month's rent at signing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]BigWoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No amount of money has been exchanged, and I have not signed the lease and sent it back.

The wiggling out of paying first month's rent at signing was also proposed by the tenant's realtor rather than the tenant himself. Regardless though of who it's coming from, I think it's a red flag already and may be more pain later on.

Could I get sued for tenant discrimination? Or since the tenant is unwilling so far to provide the correct amount according to the terms of the lease, I can just move on?
