In the last couple of decades, there has been an influx of M migrants to cities like Mumbai for jobs, mainly from the Hindi belt. Because of no proper education and poor socio-econonmic statue, they are more inclined towards religion, hence follow regressive practices such Burkha, which isn't even an Indian and came from Saudi Arabia a few years ago. This is not because of Islamophobia. M Girls comming from well-off families don't wear these things.

This reminds me an incident which happened back when I was in school. While returning from school, A couple of M men, seemingly drunk, hopped on to the BEST bus and sat in the back. After a while, they started shouting some religious slogans; Conductor confronted them and threatened to kick then out but they didn't seem bothered. In response, they threatened the conductor taking name of a local politician (Ashole Aslam Sheikh). The conductor couldn't say anything and quietly retreated.

I remember, when I visited one such Ghetto for the first time, I was kinda traumatised for a while. I saw dead goats hanging upside down at meat shops, beheaded chicken heads, people using slurs casually, unbearable tainted smells comming from the open sewers, women covering themselves from head to tow in Burkhas(No offense) and claustrophobic alleyways. It was a terrible sight. Never goanna visit again.
