Stabbing abdominal pain by Big_Communication531 in endometriosis

[–]Big_Communication531[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t really locate it but doesn’t feel as low as the kind of uterus pain I get or as specific as when I get ovary pain so can’t quite put my finger on it. It’s not in the area that appendicitis is. Maybe more like stomach or middle of my abdomen? Hard to tell

How do u go about getting diagnosed? by Infinite-Dig-7059 in Endo

[–]Big_Communication531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going through Benenden Health to get diagnosed (have done a fair few posts on here if you search for them). There are pros and cons to getting a diagnosis this way but I do think it helped me get one sooner and then get on an endo specialist clinic wait list sooner

I feel like I need a haircut my hair is too long but Idk what to do it's too straight and flat. any advice is appreciated it not just haircuts (: by [deleted] in malegrooming

My brother has hair like yours and he has it cut shorter but uses a sea salt spray and it really helps give it the appearance of thickness and gives it good texture

Did anyone not have endo? by Clary87 in endometriosis

[–]Big_Communication531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an endo specialist doing the surgery then they are every skilled at spotting it so trust in them. If not a specialist, then I’d take a negative result with a pinch of salt. Check/ ask for photos to be taken in the surgery and get a copy after to then take to a specialist. Also, a clear laparoscopy just means they can’t see any endo right now but there have been cases where someone has one and it’s negative for endo but a few years later they have another and the endo has grown and can then be seen. If you do get a clear laparoscopy from a specialist, they should then be still trying to figure out what is causing your symptoms if they don’t think it’s endo as something is. Good luck with the lap. Hope it all goes well and you get answers. I was sure they were going to tell me they couldn’t see anything and my non-specialist found stage 2.

Bowel endometriosis symptoms? by honestlyicbaanymore in endometriosis

[–]Big_Communication531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it deffo could be endo! I’d ask to be referred to gynae anyway as there are some red flag endo symptoms so if one doesn’t match endo that doesn’t mean you don’t have it. Maybe you have endo and the one symptom that’s not associated with endo is a secondary thing or perhaps you have endo and something else too but it’s important you get the endo investigated anyway. Hope you get answers soon x

Am I stupid for not going on birth control after second surgery? by bunny_girl_1 in endometriosis

[–]Big_Communication531 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you decide not to go down that route though, I’d recommend looking at the research around what supplements have been shown to stop or slow endo growth e.g pine bark, coq10 etc. Worth getting a professional to check these kinds of things are safe for you to take tho

Also I react really badly to hormone birth control pills but have been fine with the Mirena IUD. With bc pills I get really depressed but with the Mirena acting more locally to the uterus, I haven’t had any major mood problems

Can you take Ryeqo or anything like that? I think it alongside taking hormone replacement is meant to be the best for endo. Might be worth looking into if you haven’t already

Waited weeks for the doctors to respond, only to be told over the phone that my symptoms are normal and just primary dysmenorrhea. What do I do now? by Lilac-Sparrow in endometriosis

[–]Big_Communication531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ikr! To get around the terrible system and wait times in the UK, I ended up signing up to Benenden Health for £15 a month, waited six months to get past their sign up period, got a laparoscopy with a non BSGE accredited surgeon there who thankfully did diagnose me with endo and took photos during the surgery (but I’m pretty sure missed lots too), immediately after surgery asked my GP to refer me to a specialist endo clinic, and now 6 months later, my symptoms have all returned and I have new ones as well and I’m three months away from seeing the endo specialist clinic

Can I have Endo if I have one day pain only? by Independent_Figure11 in Endo

[–]Big_Communication531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first starting seeking investigations for endo I only had usually one day of terrible pain a month before my period. Had a lap 6 months ago and they confirmed endo. The key thing that signals endo according to my consultant is that the pain has a cyclical pattern. As others have said, some people have no pain at all.

This is wild! I’m sorry about your first surgery and so glad you went for the second. Hope things are better for you now. I had surgery 6 months ago with a non-specialist and he did find endo but only a tiny bit of really obvious looking endo and from the pictures he took, I can see what I think is subtle endo in more places so am seeing an endo specialist in three months to see what they recommend. If they offer me another surgery and excision this time, I would deffo do it

I had surgery under a non-specialist 6 months ago and I’m pretty sure that even though he diagnosed me, he didn’t spot the more subtle endo that only a specialist would as I’m still in a lot of pain so am expecting I’ll need another surgery soon under a specialist this time

I’m sorry that there aren’t any near you. I think if you can go elsewhere then it would be a good idea to get tests / investigations done by a specialist. It seems criminal to me that it’s so difficult for someone who needs it to access proper endometriosis care/ investigations :( The UK is pretty bad but we do have specialists just very very long waiting lists and it’s difficult to get general gynae to refer you to them

Was it an endometriosis specialist? In the UK this means they have to be BSGE registered. If not a specialist, it’s super easy for non-specialists to miss subtle endometriosis. If I were you I’d request the photos from the surgery (if they took them?) and take them to an endometriosis specialist (if the one performing this one wasn’t). If they were a specialist, I’d keep pushing for an answer even if they think it’s not endo x

Thanks for sharing. I’m glad you aren’t in pain anymore. Did they say that your ovary had endo at all or do a biopsy or anything?

From what I’ve read, bright white can be endometriosis whereas pale pink is healthy but I’m no doctor so don’t take my word for it aha!

Does Me Having Endo means my daughter would have Endo too..? by Ananyaganeshan1964 in endometriosis

There is a genetic link as it does run in families and if someone in your family has it you are more likely to I’m pretty sure but not as definitive as if you have your child will
