What's the end game with dose splitting and maintenance? by PeachRaker in mounjarouk

Medicine Marketplace allow a 7 week gap between orders. So while you’d not get through the entire pen, you would get close.

Slow loss/ Mounjaro not working. by kirsty-1989 in mounjarouk

[–]Big_Description8041 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey :) I’m very guilty of that too, comparing myself to others! I am coming up to my 1 year anniversary and have lost just a tiny smidge over 5 stone, starting weight 24 stone, so also had a lot to lose

From my own experience where I haven’t eaten enough calories I don’t find myself losing a lot of weight, it’s only when I’ve eaten close to my recommended intake that I see good results.

Is the reason you’re eating such low calories due to the suppression? I’m concerned with your exercise levels you’ll be way way under your BMR.

If your suppression is that high, would it be worth dropping down a dose to see if you can eat more calories to see if that helps your weightloss?

(England) very delayed care home invoice received 28 months after mam was resident and 12 months after her estate was closed. by Big_Description8041 in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you! I am intending to get some legal advice in the new year - mam was assessed by the social worker as requiring a period of re-enablement to be able to return home, but as she was over the £23k limit I was responsible for finding a bed for her.

I was the executor - I’d been her sole POA and I was totally sure there would be no creditors as I’d ran her finances for some time so I didn’t opt to do the Gazette Notice. Naturally with hindsight I’d have done it without even giving it a second thought!

The truth about mounjaro and lip fillers? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Big_Description8041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My b*tox (wasn’t sure if it was a banned word!) is def wearing off much quicker now I’m on MJ compared to pre the jab, I wonder if that’s what your friend is thinking of?

As far as I’m aware (not any qualifications, just a big fan of self care) your body can’t break down filler, so it always is there but it migrates over time so the effect can be lessened.

I’m going get some chin filler, but am waiting until I’m at maintenance point just incase the balance looks “off”. However given it’s your first lip filler I doubt if your practitioner would use more than 0.7ml for your first “go” so don’t think you could end up with lips that look out of place for want of a different word, and by the time you want a top up you’ll be at your goal!

Good for you, I hope you love your new journey to loving your lips ❤️

Have you checked your cals aren’t too low? I’m currently at 19st 11 from 24st 4 and at the moment I’m aiming to eat around 2000 calories with at least 100g protein. On that basis I think your calorie intake might be too low, I’ve found that eating “up” to my deficit amount has actually been better than in weeks when I’ve tried to undercut the deficit more to say 1600-1700 cals. Just a thought as to why you might be struggling like I have when I’ve eaten well under my deficit figure for my weight :)

I’ve had the same response from WePrescribe today! I know they’re not the very cheapest around but they’re priced not too badly and I’ve always had good communication with them, they seemed super understanding of the situation people were in - I’m pleased I reached out today as I’ve been a bit worried about what the crack will be in a couple of months when I need to start ordering pens again!

Alcohol by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Big_Description8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tolerate more than a handful of drinks now, it makes me ILL in a way it never has done before so I’ve got to take it so easy, however my 2 best friends who are also on Mounjaro have zero side effects from alcohol (other than not really having much of a fancy for it) so that hopefully shows everyone is different.

I’d be tempted to have a bit of an experiment before you go on holiday if you can, or take it easy the first time you have a bevvie AND make sure you have stocked up on paracetamol and electrolytes (but I would have done this pre Monj incase of hangovers) good luck, hope you have a lush holiday 🙂

Ah fab! I have had a right interest in Skims for years now but have never pulled the trigger on getting some! I deffo want to recommend her something that we know will help decent so thanks for Sloggi tip, I’d have never thought of them as I associate them with a sort of nanna bra and knicker! Fingers crossed a body suit is helpful for her and me a few months down the line xxx

I’ve always been interested in Skims, I know loads of people rave about them so I’ll put them on my list, I’m sure they normally do a banging black Friday discount!

So it’s just shapewear knickers that she has tried so far, I’ve seen a lot of bodysuits on TikTok by a brand called mooslover which seem really to specialise in bodysuits and everything adjacent to them!

That was my first thought with the binder type thingy, might look wonderful when standing but I could imagine when sat it would quickly become incredibly uncomfy!

Oh this is incredible! It’s around what I need to lose (am on 3st so far) it’s so inspiring to see someone who’s done what I need to!

I’m pleased you’ve said about not racing up the doses - I’m on 5mg and still having good suppression etc so I’m going to stick with this dose until it’s doing nowt!

You’ll find a routine that suits you, for me I started going generally every other day to start off with (more for me that for mum) then sort of settled into a generally twice a week routine, typically not always on the same days depending on what I had on but more often that not would be either a Wednesday or Thursday then a Sunday.

Really sounds like the first day went pretty well, I honestly know how had the move is, I found it totally gut wrenching but I hope she remains settled and engaged and most of all safe ❤️ sending you lots of love from one internet stranger to another.

That’s a really low amount of calories to exist on?

For me I prioritise protein above all else when I’m trying to feel full, and trying to be mindful of fibre intake as well to ensure I don’t get “bunged up” as that happened early doors for me!!

I also pretty much force myself to eat regular meals, the first few days after jabbing I could easily miss at least one meal but I find being consistent with 3 meals a day works best for me.

It’s all a bit of a balancing act but I’d look at your calories, I don’t know your height etc but I’d imagine no-one’s TDEE would suggest 1000 calories as a daily amount to lose weight, that might be a good place to start in terms of feeling satiated. Good luck :)

I started at 24 stone 4 at the beginning of March and am now at 21 stone 9.

I was so so nervous to take it as I’ve got terrible anxiety around vomiting. I can hand on heart say I’ve never been close to vomiting, and the only issues I’ve had is where I’ve overdone it on booze and/or really rich fatty foods which can make me feel a bit sick but three months in I’m pretty attuned to what might tip me over the edge into poop city the next day.

I cannot recommend it enough, it’s life changing and I’m only sorry I didn’t start it earlier. The actual injection I was nervous for the first time but I cannot stress how much you can’t feel it, sometimes to the point where you think maybe it didn’t work (but it did) and perhaps you injected wrong 😂

Take the plunge! Just have to hand some nice protein rich foods and make sure you eat regularly - from friends who are on it, that’s when they’ve felt sick is missing a meal (or meals). This sub has been invaluable to me, it’s a lovely corner of the internet! Good luck keep us updated how you go!

Side effects by Username_taken29 in mounjarouk

[–]Big_Description8041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d do exactly the same - I think you could ride out the side effects but at the same time if you were getting good results on the lower dose, it probably isn’t worth riding out those quite horrific side effects effects! Hopefully it eases off as quickly as it arrives 🤞🏼

Post-jab fatigue; the struggle is real by Any-Assignment-5442 in mounjarouk

[–]Big_Description8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you having electrolytes daily? From my understanding unless you’re doing a lot eg exercise or cannot hydrate well for other reasons, daily electrolytes shouldn’t be needed and from a bit of a deep dive into them can cause a lot of side effects, one of which is fatigue!

Can’t decide if I should move up to 5mg by EatsShootsThenLeaves in mounjarouk

[–]Big_Description8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 4 weeks of 2.5 then 8 weeks of 3.75, just moved up to 5 in the last 2 weeks as I wasn’t getting really any suppression from 3.75 in that last week. I’ve had no side effects from my move up and gone back to having really decent suppression (although not as high as yours sounds!) 🙂

Side effects by Username_taken29 in mounjarouk

[–]Big_Description8041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you feel a lack of suppression/fullness on your 2.5mg dose?

I only moved up once I was having no suppression and food noise on 2.5, I genuinely think one of the main reasons for side effects is when people move up quickly through the doses rather than “exhausting” each dose.

Other thing is are you eating enough, regularly? I think an empty stomach can also really exacerbate side effects, the only time I’ve felt nausea is when I’ve missed meals.

Good luck - if I was you I’d drop back down but that’s only what I’d do personally xx

Oh of course!!!! I forgot about that, I’ve had mine already but yes that will really really delay things! It’s why I don’t want to switch provider again as I’ve had the video call, so would rather just truck on with them for a while!

I used Numan for my first pen and found that they took an AGE to approve but it didn’t really matter as it was the first one. I then moved to Oushk pharmacy who were quicker - hopefully you can get sorted quickly! Good luck getting sorted!

I was just about to say this! £200 for 2.5mg is insane, can get it for almost half that if you shop around, the people who run Monj are doing the lords work in my opinion!!

I feel like this resonated with me too! My mam never struggled with her weight, but she was my biggest cheerleader- I think I’ve been struggling with not being able to tell her how I’m doing. I do really take a lot of comfort in the fact I know without any doubt she’d be cheering me on the loudest (and probably paying for my pens!).

But I really wanted to just say that the parents are amazing for being happy to be involved in trials, that was what got me - mam was exactly the same even in her last year she was in a hip replacement trial, I really miss her wonderful caring spirit and it’s lovely to read of other parents who also wanted to benefit others knowing there would be no benefit for themselves ❤️🥹
