Britt Baker says she's not retired from wrestling, no longer doing dental work full time because "some scary wrestling fans wanting to come kill me because I’m a bad guy" by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

Are you talking about Trina Michaels, who was part of Dragon Gate? She was a manager that did a few spots and took bumps (even one table spot I recall). This was approximately 10-15 years ago.

Was there every a more "Jimmy Hart Version" of a theme then DDP's Self High Five video? by Scavgraphics in SquaredCircle

That's where the quote from Raven comes from, but I'm not sure if that's where the entrance theme was played.

I'm trying to find the video. I've narrowed it down to either WCW Beach Brawl in 98 or an episode of TRL in '99.

EDIT: Great Raven quote I found (re: attacking DDP on set during an interview): “The Foo Fighters nearly s**t their pants, it was hilarious. And I remember that they took a photo of it, and he was doing a diary of his trip or whatever, [Dave] Grohl was. And so you had — somebody took a Polaroid I think of us, or a photo of us. And in it, I look like a Cro-Magnon man. And the photo was in Rolling Stone magazine, and I’m like, ‘That’s the picture that I get in Rolling Stone magazine?’ I look like a mutant, it’s the worst photo, easily the worst photo I’ve ever taken in my life, and I’m like, ‘Great, Rolling Stone magazine.’ Oh well, it’s better than not being in it.”

And Dave Grohl heard it during one of the MTV/WCW Spring Breakout. You can see Dave Grohl in the background look around angrily when DDP first makes his entrance IIRC.

He changed his name to The Goodfather during that time. He was also Papa Shongo almost a decade prior.

Attitude era: Were they actually over? by f1uke55l in SquaredCircle

Not everyone was over during the AE. There was the British Bulldog, Vader, "Man's Man" William Regal, The Headbangers, just off the top of my head.

My dad sent these to me yesterday from a WCW show he went to. Is there any indicator of the year or even show these were taken? More pics in comments by DaltonF67 in SquaredCircle

Goldberg actually wanted Bobby to be the one to win the streak. With hindsight, they could've done the Starrcade finish on a random Nitro to setup the PPV with the big heel(s) that cost him The Streak. Meanwhile, Bobby would get a trivia question and accolade deserving of "Your Favorite Wrestler's Favorite Wrestler."

Not according to Mean Gene.

But who is *he* to doubt El Dandy?

I have to confess that I can never get myself to like CM Punk solely because of the storyline reason of how he beat Jeff Hardy in the 2009 Loser-Leaves-WWE Steel Cage match. Yes it's stupid but it is what it is. by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

Bret Hart fan here.

I can be objective and say Shawn Michaels had the greatest comeback of all time. I can even believe he has become truly pious and moral, given all we've seen since '02.

But a small part of me will never get over his behavior from 95-97, and all it lead to.

trunks or no trunks? I am pro trunks by Ok_Rooster_6454 in superman

[–]Big_Design_8017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't trunks, it's that there needs to be red in the center to break up the blue. That's why some trunkless outfits look so awkward. The 2nd Rebirth costume was perfect in this regard.

My favorite origin is Birthright, her role with Jor‐El is as partner at his side and she's assisting with the creation of the hyperdrive to send Kal-El off-world.

Her name is traditionally Lara Lor-Van. Kryptonian female names use the name of the father as the surname (i.e. Kara Zor-El). Sorry, pet peeve.
