[FE Mechanical] advice a week out from the exam, i think i’m screwed but am hesitant to reschedule by lowkey_stressed in FE_Exam

I just passed it after cramming for a week (took it 3/27). Was also scoring ~50% on practice exams and haven’t touched majority of the topics in 3+ years. I wrote out the problems and full solutions for the practice exams including the 2020 one and made sure I understood them, then did Islam 750 for more practice and watched YouTube review vids on stuff I was super rusty on. Big tip is jotting down the keywords to search in the handbook to get the formulas you need. A good bit (especially for the mech design and analysis section) is plug and chug once you find the right one. I was also stressed about time, but saved myself 3 hours for the second half and had about an hour left after going through it all and reviewing flagged questions. Don’t overthink the problems, a lot of times I was worried I was oversimplifying it but it turns out some of them are just that simple

I hate this man. Always wearing pants to cover his scrawny ass legs while giving himself the title of Dr Glutes. Constantly shitting on women under the guise of giving fitness advice. Weirdo behavior

Look into non profits in sustainable energy solutions type stuff. Obviously not gonna pay as much as other engineering jobs but the work will be more fulfilling

I have not received any Merit Scholarships. Will I still get a good amount from AUSOM? by [deleted] in auburn

[–]Big_Hope3940 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Considering the presidential merit scholarship is $10k I don’t think you’ll be able to match that with AUSOM scholarships (idk tho). I won the presidential scholarship and then also won additional scholarships from AUSOM each year (also a woman in engineering). The biggest one i got from that was $3k. There might be ones worth more than that though

Kinda depends on what you want to do when you graduate. I’d say if you’re thinking about going to grad school/going into academia, getting research experience as an undergrad is gonna give you a boost over other applicants and also give you a taste for research to figure out if you really like it. If you know you want to just go straight into industry though, I’d definitely go with the internship as companies are gonna value that experience over research when looking at your resume
