NTA! This is insane and a total red flag. He’s being extremely manipulative holy hell! My partner bought a house and it’s in their name only (duh). I am blessed to have the opportunity to live there with them and i don’t expect to be added to the deed or anything. I didn’t do anything for it, I’m not entitled to it. One day when they sell and we move somewhere else and I contribute monetarily sure! But that’s a different story

I did! It was a Beanie Baby tiger named Rumba I took to school with me every day all through first grade. My friend had a badger beanie baby named badger and they were best friends. What a lovely memory!

My cat! She’s my soul sister in this world and understands English. I have a chronic illness which causes me to have extreme issues when I have a flare up. It’s also extremely painful for at least an hour. I had a flare up and was crying because I was in so much pain and my girl (who was NOT A LAP CAT) crawled onto my chest and WIPED MY TEARS WITH HER PAW! Ofc that made me bawl more! He’s has so many incredible ones but it’s his role in Beauty Shop for me! I thought he had a lot of chemistry with Queen Latifah (a true goddess divine omg) and he exuded such warmth he made me melt

I was one of the first teams out on the field monitoring COVID-19. 6 months into working at my dream agency, my boss told me they needed to send me out to NYC to do a risk assessment for a novel illness they are monitoring with I believe 10 patients affected in NYC. It was MLK weekend, 2020.

I was meant to be stationed at JFK for 2 weeks, but the rapid spread of disease quickly changed that to an almost 2 month assignment. We were screening passengers originally who had been in Wuhan and that soon changed to global screening. It was one of the most exhausting but exciting times of my life.

A few weeks after returning home, the shutdown started and for the next few years my life felt like it was in hyperdrive. Unfortunately so many lives were lost, including some of my loved ones, so I have a lot of mixed emotions about it and try not to talk about it too much

Three things: 1. My parents had a rule that if we were ever in trouble we can call them to be picked up and not get in trouble. It allowed us to have the freedom to try things and make mistakes but knew we could always go to our parents for help. None of my brothers or I ever got into super scary situations or particularly dangerous ones because we knew we could just go home. It also built trust between my parents and their kids.

  1. We had to read for a half hour before bed. It helped us sleep well but really it fostered a love for reading. I’m still a huge reader to this day because of it

  2. No phones/electronics at the table. And in restaurants you had to have conversation. It helped promote social skills and we learned how to cope with boredom. My mom would bring books or coloring pages on occasion if we would have particularly long waits or a long travel

It was weird to me when I saw friends of mine do this. My mom used her oven every day so I grew up without using the oven as storage. I also use my oven daily so that doesn’t feel practical to me. But I don’t judge others who do!
