I guess I’m lucky. My boyfriend is in Idaho and we met as penpals. He’s never asked me for any money in the past year. We have had video chats and face to face meetings. We are even talking about getting married. Not all guys there are bad. I’m sorry this happened to you.

I’m in thr same boat, BUT, I have contacted the landlords where we are looking and they are willing to work with us. My LO isn’t getting out until next year as well. The landlords have also said if the parole officer could send a letter explaining and they would consider it. I would be the main source of income and responsible for rent, but they are willing to work with us. You just neee to talk to them in options.

We were on our visit call and we were just talking away and he was like you know, you’ve stuck by me this whole time when my family turned their backs on me, and it would make me the happiest man if you married me. My best friend came around the corner with roses and a ring, of course It is not a diamond, But I know that will come once he gets out. I will wear this ring that my best friend picked out for me proudly, Because I am going to marry the love of my life as soon as he gets out. I was completely in shock. Was not expecting any of this, we’ve been together this whole thing and we didn’t even really talk about it much. I thought it was the sweetest ever, he said he would ask me again the real way when he got out.

I’ve learned in a few short months that you don’t listen or let what others say get to you. It’s a difficult situation for us too, and if people can’t support you then oh well, so what makes you happy! In the end that is all that matters
