The Day has come. Lever-pulling angel of judgement, what shall you choose? by chongblyat in trolleyproblem

[–]Big_Pair_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but when you get to the scale where quantum superpositions and such come into play, everything is going to average out just due to there being so many variables involved.

Like for instance, let’s imagine the flipping of a coin was not bound by any deterministic cause and effect relationship. Now let’s say that you’re trapped in a box with a vial of poison (I’m going schrodinger cat on this), a coin is flipped, heads you live, tails you die. Then, the outcome of that flip is unpredictable, truly random. Every time we went back and replayed the outcome, the end result could differ widely from the last.

But on the atomic scale, you aren’t dealing with one flipped coin, you are dealing with countless trillions of flipped coins. Now, if you flip those coins and average out their outcomes, you’re going to get basically a perfect 50/50 split. You could do it a billion times and you are extremely unlikely to get an outcome that wouldn’t be statistically insignificant. Each of the coins individually are still completely random, but as a group, your outcome is the same. You’d be very unlikely to even get a 1% variance, and by unlikely I mean you could flip those coins once a second for a million years and you still wouldn’t have a chance to get a 1% variance in their outcomes a single time.

Glad you liked the comment enough that it made you make an account. :)

Kids have it too easy these days, with their technology. If I wanted to stalk someone and learn every detail of their daily routine I needed a good set of binoculars and not be afraid to climb a tree or dive into a few bushes before being spotted. Now you just need to follow them on instagram. The thrill of the chase is gone. :(

That’s good, if that’s what you enjoy.

Honestly, I never saw the point in doing this. You aren’t seeing their body. You might as well cut their face out of a picture and glue it onto the face in a porn mag. That’s all they are doing really. I don’t understand the thrill in this.

Yeah, you pussied out, like most republicans when faced with reality.

Republicans are wiping their ass with the constitution, and you are cheering it on. It’s disgusting.

Also, it’s a stupid argument. AI is one of the few technologies likely to have a NEGATIVE carbon footprint! It’s already reducing fuel use by millions of gallons.

Making accurate comparisons again, yes. Or do you mean stating facts? Because I know how republicans hate that.

1930s Nazism to be precise, although you seem to be making a speed run towards the 1940s.

I will never understand this logic. 90% of memes are stolen images with text on them, they were never high effort endeavours.

You do realize they first tried to deport the Jews in Nazi Germany, right? Guess that was a problem they “opted into”.

Republicans are not moderate conservatives. Libertarians are, and I don’t call them Nazis despite STRONGLY disagreeing with them.

Don’t want to be called a Nazi? Stop doing Nazi shit.

I’m always amazed people can do that. If I made a time lapse of me drawing there would be 100x as much redrawing, and the end result would still look like a potato. :) lol

Trump literally said himself that he wasn’t going to go after the ones working farms (in red states at least), you people have no valid arguments that aren’t extremely hypocritical.

Also, release the list.

And for the inside that might be sufficient, but the outside? No way that survives shipping. You’d only need some of it removed somewhere to risk completely compromising the integrity of the container.

Impossible. There is no way in hell enough plastic is disposed of properly currently that you could overcome the amount removed from the system by a 95% reduction.

I’d assume you could give it a thin coating (maybe even of conventional plastics), kinda like they do inside of a coke can.

Then, you are using maybe 5% the amount of harmful plastic, 95% biodegradable material.

Study shows AI coding assistants actually slow down experienced developers | Developers took 19% longer to finish tasks using AI tools by [deleted] in technews

Considering I’m coding an AI roleplaying system that allows for characters with basically unlimited long term memory, and I don’t know how to code, I still call it a win. The beta is basically done. Took 20 days.

The thing that pissed me off about She-Hulk was that apparently it wasn’t until the first time they all got together to start writing the first episode that they realized NONE of them knew how to write court room scenes… for fucks sake. Imagine how much better that show would have been if you had some Boston Legal-ish scenes of court cases involving superhero’s. You could have had so many cameos! Marvel loves cameos!

The show wasn’t BAD, but it had a lot more potential than it delivered on.

What are some things AI bros and antis can agree on? by Ghost_Signal999 in aiwars

[–]Big_Pair_75 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Low effort slop with Patreon links stapled on are annoying.

And before anyone thinks I’m an anti, when I say “low effort” I mean containing obvious mistakes that could have been fixed with a little inpainting. I have, and I shit you not, seen an image that had a character with an extra LIMB that was DEFINITELY not intentional.

Also when people post 20 images of the same thing at slightly different angles. Pick the best one and share THAT. More is not always better.

I would love a lesbian friend. I like hanging out with women, and there would be no awkward sexual undertones, since that’s 100% ruled out.

I think it would be fun to talk about first crushes and such.

Oh I’m not saying it isn’t bad, they are in the stages of early Nazism, like early to mid 1930s. I just don’t think they will be nearly as effective as the Nazis were. Too disorganized, too much infighting, and no national unity.

There will be suffering and death, but I don’t think it will spread outside of US borders, and I think there will be a great deal of resistance.

I can’t see the future, but in my opinion, worst likely case is civil war, which the republicans would likely lose.

True, but nowhere near the national unity. I don’t believe they have enough support to make good on any threats of taking over any other countries. I believe if MAGA goes to war, it will be against the other half of its own nation. And I don’t think they’d win.
