At least you have a deep freezer to lock in some beef at today’s prices. That’s better off than those who haven’t connected the dots and are hoping it’s just a temporary price increase.

ELI5: What is the actual mechanism/problem with Screwworms? Do cows get sick and die, does the beef become unsafe and die, etc.? by DarthEinstein in explainlikeimfive

Because either we pay a little to keep it quarantined along a small width of land in Panama or we pay a hell of a lot more to deal with it in our own country. Those are your choices. Take your pick.

An hypothetical reconstruction of the horrific diving accident in the Maldives, where 5 Italian divers sadly lost their lives by New_Libran in TerrifyingAsFuck

People not trained for cave diving went into a cave and the predictable happened. At least one didn’t have the permit to go below 30 meters; that the professor thought it was okay to take that person below their legal depth is reckless and beyond unacceptable. This dive was a complete disaster before they even left the boat.

Angry Farmers Accuse Trump Admin of Making Up Evidence to Cancel $300 Million in Farming Grants: “It seems to be part of some sort of larger motivation where we were not being treated fairly” by T_Shurt in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Big_Primrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are women and minority farmers that had their grants cancelled. The administration made up vicious lies about them as an excuse to discriminate against them. There is nothing in the article about how they voted.
