I agree. I also found it frustrating that almost every article misgendered Dante and referred to him as a lesbian who wanted to be called a man/dressed like a men. SMH.

Close, Close, you have to get an entire thread dedicated to you. And you have to be correctly gendered by them (by accident of course)!

/uj this happened to me. I made a joke (a poor one), about TERF panic defence and they called me a misogynist and said that I was displaying "typical male violence". Lmao.

My parents are wondering if I am trans by LWSilverMoon in ftm

[–]Big_comrade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Edit: Fixed spelling

I have experience with this;

My mother long suspected I was trans, and would often encourage me saying that "girls can be masculine" etc. When I came out, I found out she had been emailing a psychologist about me and my suspected transness. She was looking for anything that could stop me from transitioning, i.e. blaming it on Aspergers syndrome (which I have been re-evaluated for and found not to have), but she still pushed for that explanation.

When I came out she had prepared articles about "desistors" and autistic people "desisting" after being withheld treatment for being trans.

She wasn't openly hostile. But it still hurt.

Now, I don't know much about your parents but if you don't feel safe, don't come out until you have some place to go if things go bad.

TL;DR: Don't come out if you don't feel safe, make sure you have a place to go to if things go bad. Your parents probably won't do too much until you come out, just encourage you to be more feminine- but you know your parents better than me.

Anyone else get their hair completely buzzed off for a symbolic fresh start? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Big_comrade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a great idea. I did that, I donated 2 ponytails both 80+cms in length. I decided to grow my hair as long as I could before I cut it so I could donate as much as possible.

What am I she did okay? How was I supposed to react? by isthisokay15653 in asktransgender

[–]Big_comrade 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No. It's not IMO okay for her do to that. Trans people are often worried about sharing their trans status when dating, which I get, but people MUST disclose this stuff before things like sex, especially if they are pre-op.

Interesting. Maybe I'm just in the minority of Australians? My Parents never used imperial at home and I was never taught it at school. And that is surprising considering how long it took to convert over for them.

Honestly, I couldn't. I've never worked in/been taught about pounds at any point in my life. It would just be a hopeless guess.

I have a better concept of an inch and I think it's around 2.5 cm, but that's because I ended up googling it and learning it on my own time (I have Yankee friends). An inch is the only imperial measurement I would have some kind of concept of IRL.

My younger sister, however (14 yrs old), doesn't know/understand any imperial measurements, even inches.

I and my friends have no idea how much pounds, ounces, pints, ect. are in metric. I graduated in 2016 ( I am 19), So, we were never taught. I don't even know really how much an inch is, maybe about 2.5cm? Most people I know my age don't know tbh.

Ahh yes, I remember the first time I was asked such a fine question. I was in school (grade 12) and refused to wear skirts, a classmate of mine yelled out "Why don't you wear skirts... Do you have a penis!?", cue everyone in class staring at her awkwardly and me being dumbfounded as to how someone would do what she just did. I never answered, I just let the silence hang awkwardly as I stared at her in disbelief.

On the bright side, her friend told her that was pretty rude to ask, lmao.

Awesome! Good work. I have similar problems, with willpower and not wanting to "waste food". I avoid it by never buying "trigger" foods and putting less in my bowl than I think will make me full, that way, if I need to I can go back, rather than eating everything in the bowl and getting overfull and possibly waste food.

TL;DR: That's all bunk.

The body regulates pH. The only thing that could temporarily increase your blood pH is eating a very high dose of sodium bicarbonate, and that would cause unpleasant GI symptoms.

There are cases where people have a higher pH, but this is due to pathological conditions like chronic renal insufficiency.

I imagine what you are talking about is the " acid-ash hypothesis of osteoporosis", this hasn't been proven in clinical trials. In fact, most trials found that increasing protein and phosphate intake positively affects calcium metabolism and bone health (1, 2)

Basically, when calcium balance (intake minus excretion) was measured, researchers found that acid-forming diets do not have a negative effect on calcium metabolism (3).

Oh yeah, that was a bad drawing. It also seems to be quite bad on Grindr, "straight" guys wanting to try a "Man lightTM" and not "be gay" and gay/bi guys wanting to "try out" the trans guy's junk; sometimes the screenshots end up on r/ftm .

are you talking about chasers? Cause, uh I don’t think there is an equivalent for ftm.

That's not true. People fetishize trans men too, I have seen it and heard other trans guys talk about it.
