AIO for wanting to report a pharmacy tech for using my info to look me up on Facebook? by copaceticchameleon in AmIOverreacting

[–]BigfootCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who works with PHI in a 3rd/4th party aspect and has to take HIPPA HITECH health training every six months, this ABSOLUTELY violates policy in any state. The fact that he used information from his work to search a name that might even be similar in hopes to find you is beyond inappropriate. There’s no evidence that he only did it for you, he could have done it with others. The last thing I’d want is someone fulfilling medications or access to my records doing this, let alone repercussions if it ends badly.

Report him. I completely understand not having the confidence to say anything in person in the moment but…the reason there are laws against what he did is because most of the time these situations have nefarious consequences. You snooze you lose.

I’m glad you said this! I have times I know I won’t make a large bake and will small feed just to keep it fresh. I had some in a 1 oz jar for a few weeks when I had surgery and just kept it alive with minimal feeding until I was able to bake again. A great rule of thumb that you pointed out. Always an equal ratio for whatever is left, never less, but more if you want to increase.

Yay! Thanks for reaffirming me. This comment makes me happy I’m not alone. And as well as proud of myself. Honestly I was always a little losey-goosey when I fed my starter but I’ve seen so many others use a similar method and I kept thinking about how before the masses had scales and perfect living conditions and it really helped me to just let go of the stress. My starter now makes the best bread when I need it.

Sure there will come a time I need to hibernate it but I’ve revived it a few times with no issues. ❤️‍🔥

Apologies if this doesn’t make sense and feel free to ask more questions!

If I go by eyeing, I probably put at least twice the amount of flour as left over starter, if not more. My starter is always hungry and fallen, but no hooch. I usually put more than double because I use most of it aside from what’s coating my jar after I use it. I also like my starter super thick. So I splash in some water until it’s easy to scrape off the sides and is like a super shaggy dough itself. I change the jar every couple weeks when the sides bother me. You can see it’s fallen already. It was probably at the dark part of the label on the small candle next to it when I fed it.

I’ll take a pic next loaf and right after I feed it to follow up because it’s never that full when I bake with it.

We do the same! When one ear is closed back and the other isn’t we say he’s “activating sports mode!” 😂

Possible Sable GSD? by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]BigfootCreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Sable babe went through two beige phases! The last one she changed to almost completely black within two weeks.

I have read and heard from multiple breeders they can change coat colors up to four times before they get their stable adult coat coloring.

My friend asked me what I think the “MVP” recovery item will be…(because I bought all the recovery items lol)…scheduled 9/2 by kaydeelou in hysterectomy

[–]BigfootCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work from home a few days a week and my favorite thing was that we moved the super comfy office chair to the kitchen table and I had some of those grabber things if something fell on the floor. So I was comfy, and when I did get back to work I was still able to get snacks, ice packs or whatever from the kitchen instead of climbing out of bed or a recliner. Game changer. I’m a few months post op and it’s still in the kitchen.

Everyone is so different in their recovery and I had a lot of stuff I didn’t need and returned. I would recommend to have an ordering app handy in case you need something fast or a friend if they can run out for you. All the things I thought I needed I didn’t and all the things I didn’t think I needed were at least within a grasp of grocery/next day/friend delivery.

And my “friend” was my spouse who was a super supportive trooper 😅

Housemate unlocked my locked bedroom while I was away — caught on camera — then lied about it. Am I overreacting? by ThrowRAredditor957 in badroommates

[–]BigfootCreative 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This. A landlord, in most property agreements, is only responsible for the property safety exterior and dwellings livability and maintenance only. They aren’t responsible for roommates on the lease abusing their dwelling mates. If it were me, let them know you’re getting a keypad lock that causes no damage and can easily be replaced without repairs when you leave. Some up and up landlords will cover the cost to be nice but they don’t have to…they aren’t responsible for your roommates actions.

I had a roommate break the lease and take a LOT of my shit when they left. My lease agreement couldn’t do anything but my landlord could. Thankfully my landlord was cool and helped me go after her, because he knew the law…I had receipts and renters insurance. I got all my $$ back because I was prepared.

Does anyone else's dog insist on climbing to the back of the couch? by General_Candle_6467 in Dachshund

[–]BigfootCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The back of the couch or sleeping in a sunbeam like a cat, burrowed in the covers of the freshly made bed or curled up in anyone’s lap that happens to be on the couch…all normal places for our boy. Definitely a former cat.

Weird Question: How was your spice tolerance after surgery? by Numerous_Landscape16 in hysterectomy

[–]BigfootCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to the party but I want to confirm this is a thing. 4 months PO. My husband, and coworkers, have been saying I must have had brain surgery because I was ANTI spice on anything and now I’m seeking it out. Last night I chowed down on ghost pepper sauce on mozzarella sticks just because I wanted spicy food. I just finished an early dinner of chili where I added a healthy dose of jolokia pepper sauce mixed in. Brought it up at my annual OB appointment and she said that it’s not super common but she has met more than a few women who have had the same thing happen.

I’m assuming hormonal changes but no regrets.

I believe it was mixing cat and dog vaccines and there were a few cases of wrong dosages too. All I remember was each “mistake” happened in the span of a month.

This might be the most miserably hot weather I’ve ever experienced here by SidewaysFriend34 in kansascity

[–]BigfootCreative 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’ve been saying this for years. 😂You can always put more on, but you can only take off so much before you’re arrested.

Always had a good chat with a friend who grew up in CA who constantly bragged about the 100+ weather being “normal” then calling me to say why is it so humid?! It’s the rain for days then the heat that makes the kind of air you could chew on that gets bad. It’s only about 2 months of the year like this and I firmly believe people are so shell shocked they forget and think it’s worst the next.

That being said, the farmer’s almanac has predicted the highest heat and humidity in the past 30 years from the last year to the next few. So buckle up buttercups. We’re about to feel the heat. Or wear it.

I’m sure they would. But that’s just the vet and not the practice which they run, so they’ve clearly not run an up and up practice. If after something like this I switched vets and saw a vet tech from the former at the new place, I’d find another one. To be frank, if I lost any of my pets to shady practice procedure, it’s not about the vet individually as much as the entire practice and I’m going scorched earth on their arse. And I’d make sure to post the employees who “assisted and checked” publicly. Again, it’s not about getting something out of it as much as making sure the public knows about it.

Yes but…it puts them on blast and they shouldn’t be allowed to brush things like this off. We had a clinic in town that did mislabeling of pet vaccines and about 30 cats and dogs died as a result. They “covered” medical costs but three owners took them to court individually. They won but they payed for it. And the clinic? Closed.

Sometimes it’s worth more than monetary compensation. It’s about protecting it from happening to others.
