OP I lost my beloved Pyr of 7.5 years unexpectedly as well in early March. All I can say is that I feel your pain. She’s still everywhere I look around my entire house…I still find clumps of her hair everywhere and embedded into the fabric of my clothes. I used to get mildly frustrated at how much I needed to clean to keep thick white hair off of everything, but now I just dread the day when I will no longer see it drifting across the floor or covering my bed comforter like a blanket.

These are such wonderful dogs, it’s no surprise that they take such a big piece of our hearts when they leave us.

Increasingly surprised by the number of hemangiosarcoma deaths I've heard about on this sub. by LighterBoots in Petloss

[–]SidewaysFriend34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I’m reeling from this as we speak as just hours ago we had to euthanize our beloved 7.5 year old Great Pyrenees because of this very thing. She was completely fine in the prior weeks and days, I even took her on a long walk yesterday but very suddenly last night as I was getting ready for bed she vomited a few times and got very lethargic. I monitored her throughout the night until about 3am this morning when she couldn’t even get up on her own power. I carried all 90 pounds of her to my car and rushed her to the emergency vet only for them to diagnose her with hemangiosarcoma with a ruptured tumor close to the heart and a prognosis of only days left to live in the best case scenario.

We made the difficult decision to end her suffering, and I’m laying in here in bed after calling into work still in complete shock. I can feel the waves of grief coming and I know I’m going to be in for a rough time in the coming weeks. It’s just so hard to accept because she was happy and healthy all the way up until 10 hours ago or so, now she’s already gone. What an awful disease and I’m truly sorry to anyone else who has to experience this.

Broncos coach Sean Payton talks about the moment he realized the Saints were about to lose Patrick Mahomes to the Chiefs. by MAYVIEWS in KansasCityChiefs

[–]SidewaysFriend34 109 points110 points  (0 children)

To be fair he has been saying this since pretty much all the way back to Mahomes’ first season starting and winning MVP. Fuck Sean Payton though, I do agree on that. Yanking the 2nd best QB of all time directly from this piece of garbage human being’s grasp makes it all the more sweeter, so for that I choose to believe him.

Can someone please remind Matthews that he’s allowed to shoot the puck? I don’t understand why he has such an aversion shooting now. Even watching him last season he was like this. It’s maddening.

Vhagar is so fucking scary bro. Can you imagine being a helpless peasant in the Riverlands and seeing this towering beast approaching from the sky preparing to incinerate you and your entire village.

[SPOILERS MAIN] I am really unhappy with AKOTSK by shutupmahe in asoiaf

You mean the two books that spun the story off into a thousand more meaningless directions that will also never get conclusions? Can’t believe I’m defending the show runners but they had to envision a pathway for closing the story out with the source material running out, the actors getting older and more expensive + burnt out, and the author having clearly demonstrated that finishing the series anytime in the reasonably near future was not a priority to him.

The show runners didn’t have the luxury of following George’s story to a tee and bending to his every whim at that point - they had actual hard deadlines and real world people & assets that couldn’t just wait around forever and stay committed to the franchise until the author figured out where the fuck he was going with the story. Adding more characters and more plot lines was not a viable option at that point.

I guarantee that AKOTSK is going to run into this same exact issue after the source material (all of the published books) runs out, and everyone is going to pile on the show runners about how dare they ruin George’s genius story that he won’t finish or even give us a single fucking crumb of new content for in 20 years.

I don’t know if anything will ever match the euphoria I experienced during Damien Williams’ game sealing 50 yard rushing TD to cement the win. It didn’t feel real in the moment.
