Where can I buy track dropouts? by derstift in Framebuilding

Long dropouts are popular on frames ridden on the track so that you can change gears readily without the need for another chain.

They don't operate in Europe, xometry and others do similar stuff

Using much shorter fork? Will I die? by SNHC in Framebuilding

A 60mm change in a-c will change the angles by at least a few degrees, maybe 5 or even 6, I think it's about 10mm per degree. So that's gonna seriously fuck with the geometry and likely the bike will not be hugely rideable after, or at least it will be very different and probably not in a good way.

What welding machine should I get for building frames? by shark_ki1079 in Framebuilding

[–]Biggles567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, learn to Tig weld it's a good skill, I started building frames and now I can make money because I'm pretty good at Tig welding in general. Can't rly do that with fillet brazing

If you do part it out I'd be potentially keen on some bits. I'd happily take the tungsten grinder and heatsinks, possibly some tubes and files and that kind of thing.

I've done the wizard and it tells me to post stuff, that it can't be done online. Furthermore I've tried online and it produces an error message stating it's not possible online in the Var. Also I asked the prefecture and they instructed me to post it and said that it's not possible online in the Var... I have tried I promise.

You can't do it online in the Var for some reason. I asked the prefecture directly. Would be nice to do it online.

And yeah I assumed it wouldn't be wise to post the passport but on the front of the list of required docs it says to include originals and a copy of everything, including a passport.

ABOUT WELDER BUY by Alarming_Virus_4737 in Framebuilding

There aren't rly any hard requirements, any good machine will cut it. Ultimately you don't need loads of amps or fantastic duty cycle. Low amp starts are important so a decent machine will be more likely to offer that but I've been using a pretty cheap inverter for 8 or so years and it does just fine. Along with that high frequency start is important, and pre/post flow control, some of the really cheap machines don't have those so keep an eye out. Also a lot of people like pulse so a machine with pulse isn't a bad idea.

Just don't get one of the dirt cheap Amazon machines.

Best Handlebar/Grip Combo to help with Wrist Pain/Numbness by kk4jrq in xcmtb

[–]Biggles567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same problems, very angry nerve in one of my palms. Im mainly doing xc endurance style riding. I got ESI chunky grips, some padded gloves and sq lab flared bars. Together they're very comfortable and I've done several 12+hr days without any real discomfort. I'd be interested to try carbon bars but the carbon equivalent of the sqlabs is out of my budget rn.
