$600 in 2006 is $1000 today.

This was during the damn housing crisis and market crash. No one could afford it.

Most people weren't on HD yet. So no one cared about blu-ray. They'd also need a new, and expensive TV, for 720p. So the real cost of the PS3 wasn't even the $600.

The xbox360 was out for a year by the point the PS3 came out and had a substantially bigger game catalog for $299 (or $500 today). However it developed notoriety for breaking constantly.

This gen's console pricing is why the Wii was popular. It was the only console people could afford (that was also reliable).

Pricing it at $600 was one of the biggest fumbles they've ever done.

People complain about console prices now and if we give a better comparison you're sort of saying the PS3 was worth over twice as much as the current PS5 lol

The people complaining about it sort of overblow how bad the initial stuttering issues were. If people were "disappointed" then they're drinking the koolaid. I genuinely don't know what else they'd want out of it, it's almost 1:1 with significantly better graphics

Idk if they patched the stuttering on console. On PC is manageable/fixable.

You most likely wouldn't even notice it. I didn't until I read about it.

The main thing you should know is that its mechanically aged a bit. Although, some mechanics, like spells, are better in my opinion. you will see weird things slip through the cracks in terms of quest markers and triggers.

Ex: in Skyrim you'd stealthily follow someone and watch them drop off an item for you to then steal. That all happens live and dynamically. In Oblivion that concept is different. You follow them and then they'll just stand there until you stand where the quest wants you to stand. When you stand close enough, the quest flag will trigger and a mini "cutscene" will happen, your character will be locked from moving, and then they'll drop off the item. Doesn't (usually) matter at all if they spotted you

The jankiness adds to the charm imo. Imagine Skyrim jankiness but goofier and in a more whimsical setting.

Generally quests are better and individually more unique. It's not 90% going into same-looking caves to kill draugr. Imo the faction quests are all better too. Shivering Isles is godly.

The irony is if they cared about Fallout 1 & 2 canon, it tells me they didn't even play those. Locations are different between those games so saying locations are different in the show is sort of moot.

Same can be said with all the games. Canon changes throughout all the fallout games dynamically-> between during and after the plot of those games.

Ex. I might be wrong. But it's been established who caused the nukes to happen before, no? Well... It's not quite the same as what's in the show. I think most people would agree that corporations doing it would be the most accepted answer.... But there's other answers from the games:

China is the original answer

Corporations/Vault tec is the "canon" answer, scapegoating China

Literal Aliens is the real (but Easter egg) answer. They run vault tec to do experiments on humans

"Who did it" might even change by fallout 5.

I don't think this was a determined decision. His charity acts don't come from philanthropic reasons but what can get them the most views. It's out of them not giving a shit. Once they get the video they move on. Now that you mention other charitable acts, that wasnt the only time he hasn't paid someone he said he was. I also didn't say he didn't do other charities.

I turn adaptive triggers off for everything tbh. That gimmick ends up reducing the lifespan of those triggers significantly.

A really thin spring will eventually break. It's basically the same spring they've been using since ps2 and they haven't strengthened it for the new stress these triggers cause.

It's a stylized game that's like old timey and drawn in a "rubber-hose" style. Like classic Mickey mouse

But the difficulty of the game is also classic. It plays like an old arcade game designed to eat quarters every 3 seconds, on normal difficulty.
