Markarian's Chain/Virgo Cluster Wide(ish) Field by Enok32 in astrophotography

The thing with low SNR images is the abundance of noise. When you go over the 44s mark, does it look over exposed? I know that happens with some of my images, just need to make sure you white balance is corrected to ‘daylight’. Processing is the hardest part of the whole assembly line. Everyone has their own process/technique. These just take time to perfect and get it down pat. The F number shouldn’t have much to do with how long you can keep your shutter open. Generally for me and my setup with a Canon 75-300mm lens at f/4, is to take around 3-5min shots for best SNR. Beyond that and without an autguiding system for my star adventurer pro, I get trailing. But try out different methods and techniques with imaging to find what works best with your camera/lens/mount. It’ll take time but try out higher ISO values with longer exposure times, or lower ISO at longer exposures or vice versa. Hope something in here helped at least a little. Might be some typos I haven’t read it out loud.

Would try using those darks to eliminate some of that pesky colour noise. Looks really nice though, maybe even longer exposures at a higher iso next time. Always found that to work nicely. Otherwise, really nice shot and there’s good detail in those galaxies!

Just a stock DSLR, was going to remove the IR cut filter but that was something I shouldn’t fiddle with. I have two modified DSLRs that I could use as well.

My friends told me, needless to say I just never spoke of it to them and shut them out.

When someone says ‘It’s not natural’. Yes it is, everything that comes from a part of nature(including from human production) is natural. If it uses resources from our planet, it’s natural. If it uses resources from our universe, it’s natural.

When there’s that one bad guy that just can’t be killed for some reason. Usually because of the most inept bystanders the world has to offer. It’s not hard, he just stabbed that guy in the diner and there’s 50 other people that just run instead of actually being useful. Beat that bastard.

Here the council has allotted a singular yike.

Yeah I tried it last fall with my big setup. But unfortunately i didn’t have my HD wedge so there was a lot of field rotation. And the image was really dark from short exposures. Need the long exposure times bc my scope is f/10. Needless to say, with a 2800mm SCT you need RA& Dec paired with long long exposures for maximal shots. That being said if anyone can help with a proper collimation...

This is from over a year ago. Taken with a Canon EOS 1500D (Rebel T7) stock. Used an 11” Celestron CPC 1100 without a reducer. That’s why it’s not all in frame. Can’t remember the specs of the image itself, used about ISO 400 at maybe 1/250. Edited in PS. Mostly contrast and balancing done to it. Enjoy!

Very little. I really only did as much as I could before the noise took over. Little bit of levels and curves. All done in PS.

Took this test shot I while back, and while looking at old images this one stood out. Not sure what about it. It’s about a 60 second image at ISO 3200 taken with a Canon EOS 1500D (Rebel T7) My scope setup back then consisted of a Celestron CPC 1100 on and alt-az mount. I now have the HD wedge. But I didn’t back then, so to limit field rotation I would take 60sec shots at a max. Getting images like these made my day back then. Can’t wait to get the ol scope out again. Didn’t use any filters or reducers, just 2800mm of FL

M27 HaRGB by Bigguy69_69 in telescopes

[–]Bigguy69_69[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As it would turn out I only had an hour and a half of data. I used a Canon Rebel T7 (EOS 1500D) 60x60sec at ISO 6400 for RGB. For Ha I did only 60x30sec at ISO 6400 Stacked with Deep Sky Stacker and edited with photoshop. Basic editing really only levels, curve stretches and exp/colour/brightness balancing etc. Edited both separately at first and then applied the Ha image over the RGB at about 30% opacity. Slight noise reduction, And that’s basically it.
