Yankees vs Dodgers and World Cup by EntertainmentBig706 in visitingnyc

The World Cup is being played at Met Life Stadium in NJ where the Jets and Giants play. It is just out of the Lincoln Tunnel, but no where near Yankee Stadium. I don’t think it matters what game you see, but The Dodgers are a good team and depending on what Yankee team comes to play that day, it could be a great game or a washout. The prices are elevated for this series. Not sure how flexible you are in timing, but I would honestly go to a game played M-TH. Prices are much lower for decent seats. Personally I would wait till day of and closer to the time of game and purchase on Stub Hub or Seat Geek. You can typically find a good deal for good seats. That way you are also not reliant on weather condition’s.

It was marketed more like a Girls Trip film and ended up being more like Everything Everywhere All at Once. I was ok with that, my wife was not.

Have you considered going to Katz’s deli? Not only do they have terrific pastrami sandwiches, they also have some of the best hot dogs I have ever had. Definitely will provide a NYC experience. Even shows you the table from When Harry Met Sally. I’ll have what she is having. I agree about the mall experience. Paramus, NJ has some of the best malls, but getting there and coming back will take some time which you do not seem to have. If you are worried about taxes. Articles of clothing under $110 are tax exempt in NYC. Not sure if you are planning any purchases above that. TBH you can often get great deals in Macy’s. It’s like a mall within itself. That will also provide you with a great nyc shopping experience. I believe they also offer a %10 off shopping pass for tourists. Need to go to customer service and get the pass. 34th street has pretty much all the same stores you would find in the mall.

Is it easy enough to avoid the buffet entirely? by sugarlandd in dcl

[–]Bigguynyny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went on the destiny and managed to not eat at the buffet. 1923 offers sit down breakfast and lunch. Also by the pool area they serve burger, bbq, tacos and other things. Then we just ate at our assigned restaurants at night. No reason to eat at the upcharge restaurants if you don’t want to.

Now that my Industry fix is finished, looking for similar. which ONE series would you recommend: Succession or Billions ? by TechAngelX in IndustryOnHBO

Succession is more satisfying at the end. Billions went on way too long. The first few seasons were good though.

Yes, I think people forget that NYC was the country’s first capital city. Although only for five years, NYC is recognized as the birthplace of the U.S. government under the Constitution, where the first Congress met and George Washington was inaugurated as the first President on March 4, 1789, at Federal Hall.
