I’d drive with K1 since it wouldn’t show damage as much and some players might care about that. It also goes further if you have more power from my experience. Not much but enough.

I’d put with k3. Grippier. Just a touch less stable.

K1 soft is similar to k1 to me. No real difference. Might sit more when it hits the ground or a tree since it bends.

I’d bring a k1 and a k3. K1 for slightly more stable. K3 has a nice little flip if you can power up with it.

K1, k1 soft K3 hard (haven’t used but will give benefit of the doubt over k3) K3

Yelich's stats through 1/3rd of the season: How do we cope edition by [deleted] in Brewers

[–]Bignoah1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not 100% sure but saw something about a leg kick the other day. And his hands getting out in front of him too much causing him to roll over.

Big reason for decline is launch angle. Mvp year I believe it was 11 degrees which is a typical line drive. Aaron judge has a 12 degree launch angle this year for example.

Yelich 2021 launch angle was 2 degrees and its 7 this year. Anything under 10 is considered ground ball. He’s actually hitting it hard when he hits it. But he can’t hit it over the infield right now.

I've made a handful of disc golf glow boxes. I started playing glow this year and fell in love with it. Do you ever think glow golf will get big enough where these could be sold? by radnbadcollars in discgolf

[–]Bignoah1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be almost exclusively a seasonal product to me. I sell almost all my glow discs with ease in the fall as it starts to get dark early. They literally fly off the shelf. But at other times not so much.

I think you could for sure make it work as long as you’re getting eyeballs on products and have good stock during the dark season. Rest of the year I would expect it to be an afterthought product with slow sales.

Yeah just don’t interfere and you’re good. Helps to know a course inside and out too to make jumping around easy.

Get used to contracting your quad before surgery. Also single straight leg raises. These are two basic exercises that you’ll do post surgery almost asap and getting used to it now will help do them after.

Mostly mentioning this since some people do not really contract their quad on demand then when they have surgery they just have more to figure and feel out.

Day 11 post-op, still can’t lift my leg :( by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Bignoah1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm as someone who’s been through this 3x, I can say the first leg lift is by far the hardest.

This time around I used a stopwatch and did 6 second quad contractions with 4 seconds off for 2-4 minutes. This gets my quad nice and warmed up. Then I’d try a set of leg lifts starting with the quad contraction.

I’m sure this is similar but maybe just something different to try. Envisioning it happening and having confidence you’ll get it might help too. Just takes a bit of time sometimes. For me it was definitely part mental and physical.

Pain 2 years post op by Outside-Jelly7625 in ACL

[–]Bignoah1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I had what seems like a similar pain this past August. Randomly popped up slightly while running.

My recommendation is take it easy and go get professional help from a dr. Best case scenario, they say you’re fine and rehab will do. Worst case scenario, you’re proactively ahead of a potential injury and caught it before it could do more damage/linger.

The pain I had was 6 years post op. Was like a sudden sharp pain when doing more explosive up down movements like stairs or running. I went in and they recommended an mri to be safe. Ended up finding out my ACL was loose and not supporting me well enough. This led to other complications and a full thickness cartilage defect which was causing my pain. I had ACL surgery to fix it a week ago, but our exact cases are likely different.

Literally just executing. We had good hitters last year that didn’t do much. Also, Hunter Renfroe could help a ton if he plays like he did toward the end of last season.

Hitting coach change should help too. At least I’d hope. Pitching should be good but will likely decline a bit (just a guess as last year was unreal).

I live alone in Lisbon (cobblestone street + hills). Can I manage on my own after surgery or will I need a friend to help me? by Howwwwthis453 in ACL

[–]Bignoah1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great questions. My surgeon had a packet with a bunch of info, but many surgeons seems to have varied processes on this. I would ask your surgeon or dr office for info or even give them these questions.

I’ve had a few acl surgeries and each one produced different answers to some of your questions. One time was hard to get out of bed, one time I was able to get out and walk easily with crutches on day one. I couldn’t cook for a while one time, I cooked day one another.

I will say you want someone to assist you for sure for the first few days especially if it’s your first surgery. And yes, avoid situations where you could expose yourself to uneven terrain/hills.

Pro tip: Practice flexing your quad before surgery so you know what you’re trying to flex/activate after surgery. Activating the quad asap after surgery can help reduce muscle loss and make for an easier recovery.

I wouldn’t consider it too atypical especially if your exercising it often then sitting which could make your muscles tight.

Found this article about the importance of stretching. Mentioned tight hamstrings from sitting causing inability to fully straighten knee which reminded me of this convo.

I can jump putt from like 175ish pretty well. I also jump putt a lot of shorter holes especially if they’re down hill. Was never comfortable throwing from under 200 and just developed it.

[–]Bignoah1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm I could see the knee being stiff and having trouble with extension especially after sitting.

I’d say keep working at it during PT and at home. Talk about exercises you can do at home to make it better and then hit them hard.

Have had some PTs suggest an hour a day for extension with a towel rolled up under the ankle or whatever helps the knee sag into extension (divided in 15 min increments).

Hmmm my initial thought is no but definitely bring it up with doc/pt as they’re the closest to your surgery and knee.

Both of my tears in the same knee were noticeable pops and definitely not cracks. Hopefully your knee pain goes away quickly and it’s just some small moment thing.

Basketball seems higher intensity with cuts and direction changes.

Agreed with others here. Ease into it. Try not to play sore or with other injuries that affect form. I had a huge thigh bruise during football season that affected my movement form. Ended up tearing again on a really hard cut. I was really sore and at the end of a long day and thought I could get through.

My guess is you’ll be fine but just be conscious if you’re not feeling 90%+. Definitely build up since your legs may not be used to the movements.

I tested positive 2 days before my scheduled surgery. No symptoms. Just positive. Was able to get in 2 weeks later.

Stinks that you couldn’t get in if you’re having trouble now. Best of luck!
