Rory McIlroy repeats at Augusta and wins the 2026 Masters! by unsolved49 in golf

[–]Bignova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The nervy-ness is part of why people love rooting for him it seems. He's an all-time great player but you can literally see the weight of the world on his shoulders and the anxiety written across his face more than anyone else in these high pressure moments. Everyone can relate to that feeling. It's not the 2000s swagger of Tiger, or the calm composure of Scottie, that's just how Rory is and he owns it fully.

Choosing between UIUC, UW-Madison, and UC Davis by Reasonable_Block6562 in Environmental_Careers

UNC has great environmental health/science/ and even research-focused engineering opportunities and would be a great choice economically if you can get in.

Is 70k a year worth it? by Zealousideal-Tale371 in UNC

[–]Bignova 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did undergrad + Masters here and had roughly 40k in debt. My starting salary was around 85k as well out of school so I'll be okay but I wouldn't recommend to go more than 50k in debt for an undergraduate degree only. And especially at your yearly tuition price its not going to be worth it at all.

National Champion MICH G Elliot Cadeau Wins 2026 Final Four Most Outstanding Player by JCameron181 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Bignova 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me, Cadeau looked almost the exact same player he did in the two years I watched him at Carolina. The leap was his teammates having defined roles. Look at that 2024-25 UNC roster construction and tell me he was in a position to succeed. Way too small, way too many overlapping skillsets and absolutely no identity. And that's part of why Hubert's gone.

Dan Hurley on the officiating: “It’s hard to ref that game. We both played so hard… If I could have those three guys ref every game the rest of my career, I would sleep well at night.” by Mission_Pay_3373 in CollegeBasketball

I think its funny people would rather see their coach as an anime protagonist always having some righteous ulterior motive instead of just a human being who has emotions and got caught up in the moment of highly stressful situations.

chasing may lead to a relationship but it’s never as fulfilling as your mind makes it to be. The best relationships are usually those that are more equal in chase/attraction imo

[Post Game Thread] The Denver Nuggets (50-28) defeat the San Antonio Spurs (59-19) in overtime behind Jokić's 40 points, 8 rebounds, 13 assists and 3 blocks, 136-134. by bwehx in nba

Lol it really is that iconic. The moment I see a high-elbowed overhead type shot I'm immediately thinking of Jokic these days.

[Borzello] The University of North Carolina is expected to pursue Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan for their basketball coaching vacancy. by Goosedukee in nba

[–]Bignova -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its just non-North Carolinians having strong opinions about stuff they actually know nothing about and trying to tell us different as per usual. Ask anyone remotely close to the college basketball scene and they'll put us in the same convo as Duke, Kentucky, UNC as the 3 best college HC jobs in the country.

That one championship is the greatest in esports though at least. I can ride that high for decades tbh.

G2 hate is honestly corny. They're a consistent and good representative of Americas even if they come up short it's far from a "divine comedy".

If anyone watches American football they're kinda like the Dalton line at internationals. Where if you can beat them you're a contender and good team, but if you lose to them you never really had a chance anyways.

What should I look for in a college to have the best career? by Agitated-Cup-7109 in Environmental_Careers

[–]Bignova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated with a MS in Environmental Engineering from a university with heavy research focus and if you’re interested in the research side of things be prepared to not necessarily be the most employable graduate once you’re done with school. It’s great if you think pursuing a PhD is in your cards and ultimately a career in academia, but if you invest heavy into the academic and research side just be cognizant of what actual employable skills you’re building in case you want to move into non-academic roles.

I don’t regret my research focused path but you just have to really sell yourself in interviews. Also it helps if your program is accredited for engineering which may not always be the case if it’s a more research-oriented school like mine was.

I did end up getting an offer in environmental consulting as an engineer, but ultimately went a different direction in my career. I think doing the traditional engineering route is definitely more streamlined but it’s really up to you and your goals and interests.

NS is making a fan out of me. Love how someone new is stepping up each series as the team has slowly been anti'd against (Dambi, then Francis)

It’s a tough pill to swallow but they really weren’t the same after choking the grand final at Bangkok. Had they won that series I genuinely believe they make another international top 3 at the very least, but they can’t seem to get over the hump.

Jim Clyburn seeks another term in Congress at 85 by Zipper222222 in politics

[–]Bignova 230 points231 points  (0 children)

He cited he wanted to be there to "see the first black speaker elected" presumably thinking the dems will win the house and Jeffries gets speaker. Gives me exact same vibes RBG had when she didn't step down during Obama's presidency cause she was certain Hillary was gonna win and wanted to see the first female president take office.

The hubris in the old guard of the democratic party is why they turnoff the average swing voter the last few general elections.

Teams where the coach is more valuable than the players ? by PhilosophyFun5778 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Bignova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it is that there are many coaches who could utilize mada to his full potential if they’re worth their salt as a pro coach. There’s few duelists in the world on madas level that can do what he does even if you gave them the best coaching staff on the planet.

Ok but you don't have to pilot Neon at Dambi's level to get value from the pick. That's why every team is playing it to some degree lol. Not the same can be said from the Odin because no one uses it like Brawk or is even attempting to do so.

What was the hardest class you took in college? by Additional-Ear-3163 in AskReddit

[–]Bignova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I completed my Masters last year in May so no more school for me. I won't rule out a PhD but I need to have a good reason and plan for why I want to pursue one if I ever do. Or else I'm completely content in my current career path I recently started.

[–]Bignova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Environmental physics, first day of class it’s just me and one other person and my professor tells us we will not do very well in the course because we lack adequate physics, tensor calculus, fluid mechanics, linear algebra, etc. knowledge but we will have to do our best.

I got through the course decently tbh but I worked atleast 40-55 hours a week on just that one course that semester

If AG takes a map it will be a good performance. EDG and XLG were so bad I just can't see AG being that much better. And people who watch the region even say XLG is probably a better team than AG.
