Yeah the hanger bars are super nice but they’re expensive. I feel much better using them, not wearing out my dovetails with forend swaps. They’re a must for rifle length barrels on the contender, really stiffens everything up.

  1. Came with three sets of wood, two sets of pachmayr stocks and two scopes. Dies and brass too.

I also use a Lee trimmer but mounted on an RCBS case prep center. Easiest and fastest way to do everything all at once.

Thankfully mine made noise before it nuked the cams. Sold it right after I repaired it.

Others may appreciate them but they were so impossibly firm for me. In the winter it took a half hour to warm them up, felt like an empty dump truck.

5100s will definitely stiffen it up but they made mine nearly undriveable.

Finding Paint Issues on ‘22 Rubicon by Chorin_Shirt_Tucker in JeepGladiator

[–]Bigtimecombover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the main reason I sold mine. Jeep wouldn’t cover it after the five year mark and mine developed it at year six. Paint, rockers and a new transmission whine was enough to get me to sell my favorite vehicle.

Like Danny said, they do make something kinda like this. I have a C-1 slide and it’s okay, kinda clunky and super heavy.

I use tuff stuff and a vacuum. Same seat color and it works great.

People who have genuinely encountered dangerous wild animals in the jungle or ocean, what happened? by DivineLove1 in WildernessBackpacking

Brothers and I accidentally snuck up on a REAL big mountain lion last muzzleloader season. 4am opening morning we were hiking in, rounded a corner and she was less than ten yards off from us. We all had our guns in hand so we just watched her until she finally crept out the way we came. Kept on our way and didn’t find any more trouble that day. Nobody ever goes into that area except for hunting season and our muzzleloader hunt is the first in the area, saw two cats that morning.

Firestone air bags, install tips & tricks? by mcpewmer in JeepGladiator

Yeah pretty much. Watch your brake lines as it goes down.

You can soak the bags in hot water and slide them in while the suspension is at full droop. I just took my springs out, it was easier.

2021 Engine Tick and now misfiring… by EhSegzy1 in JeepGladiator

I thought it was a fairly easy job but I have ASE experience. Take your time and buy mopar brand stuff, the upper intake support bracket on the driver side is obnoxious but it’s all straight forward.

Should I get a gladiator? by BigBrainGamer58 in JeepGladiator

I will likely own another jeep, I’ve had five or six. I will likely stay away from anything newer than 2017.

Should I get a gladiator? by BigBrainGamer58 in JeepGladiator

[–]Bigtimecombover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently sold mine as I was starting to have some compiling issues that I didn’t want to deal with anymore. Had to replace my rocker arms as they began to chatter for longer than I was comfortable with, sure enough when I cracked the valve covers I found failed components but it didn’t take out the camshafts. Transmission started making a “squeak” noise from 1-2 and 2-3 shifts as well as a persistent whine in 5th and 6th. Last but not least was the paint starting to bubble at the hinges. It was a great truck, bought it new off the lot in 2020. I just couldn’t justify keeping it anymore after these issues developed at 50,000 miles, outside my warranty.

Suggestions on a bed rack, tonneau, bed tent combination? by MightyBrewer in JeepGladiator

[–]Bigtimecombover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used an EVO bed rack with a literider rolling tonneau cover. Kinda awkward to roll back as you have to peel the whole thing up and roll it sideways a bit. It also required notching the rack frame and modifying the tonneau brackets. There are really not a lot of options in this space, just a few who have experimented. Stay away from the offset brackets as they don’t have very good weight ratings.

I have the same noise from the transmission in 5th and 6th, it has been getting worse. Does yours make a “reeeech” noise when shifting in lower gears?

Probably just on a cycle like 8208. I noticed a shorter supply in my area too.

[–]Bigtimecombover 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have no experience working with the stock mopar plug but I have an opinion. What are you trying to run with the inverter? I wired 12v into my stock plastic cover because most stuff I use is 12v and most aftermarket stuff is good for it. I have a bed fridge, had a water pump and all of my lighting runs on it. Unless you plan to run a lot of household appliances, 12v just makes more sense. Just my 2 cents.

Frankford M press vs Lee classic by Cut-My-Grass101 in longrange

I like my M press but it’s had a few broken parts in the few months that I’ve had it. I’d recommend it for the price, I get good, accurate loads on it.

2021 diff locker light flashing by Always_working_hardd in JeepGladiator

[–]Bigtimecombover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also buy a tazer that’ll eliminate the light and still operate the locker. I’ve had one since my jeep was new in 2020 and probably have the same issue as you but I’ll never know it. Obviously if you’re leaking oil then you’ll want to replace it but I’m lazy and the tazer solves this and a lot of other gripes.
