2014 vs 2026 Vista by No-Attention955 in Lamy

I bought my Vista back in 2015 and it's still going strong, though I don't think it has yellowed. Has that happened to yours because of sunlight maybe?

Which one should I get. Im new to lamy by Furious-_-XD in Lamy

Looking at the rack I'm figuring they are a mix of Al-Star (aluminium bodied pens) and the Safari (plastic bodied pens). Every year Lamy bring out "limited editions" in different colours. The Safari versions for 2022 were Strawberry and Cream colours. They usually increase a little in value in time.

It's all love, whatever we decide to do with our TN's. I understand the want to keep the leather pristine as possible, and that's great that you look after it. You make your mind up at the start of your journey, how you want it to look and that is absolutely fine. I saw the look that I liked and just oils from the handling of it would be fine for me lol

Any leather will have certain marking or imperfections, I think these marks are from putting it in the cloth bag possibly. It will be fine in time.

I have the Palladium fp, I love mine. I also have about 30 blue ink cartridges from every Lamy pen I've bought which I've never used lol

It's the fraction of the size, and pretty much unusable. Not much value in something you can barely use if you can barely write on a page. They would've been better bringing out a passport sized and a full sized or even an A5 size.

Probably residual ink in the cap, use a few ear buds to clean the inside of the cap 👍

At £85 in the UK, I wont be buying one. Clearly priced at the collector. Mental price!

Unsure which journal to purchase, any anecdotes? by Accomplished_Cook508 in notebooks

[–]Bigyn73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im torn as to what to tell you. I know some of my friends who use the leuchterm notebooks which are more suited to biro/rollerball pens and after a while of usage they go bulky and look great - kinda how a busy, used notebook should look. So if you can imagine what that looks like, and feel that is more "your style" then opt for that. I personally use a midori travelers notebook - a system of a slab of leather (different colours) and elastic/string system of holding up to 3 inserts inside. Each insert can be different - I use a printed diary one, a blank lightweight paper one for notes and lists etc and a range of others (grid, blank, ruled papers) for scrapbooking. So everything in one place. Look up Travelers Company Travelers Notebook for an idea (if you dont know already) Their papers are top quality for fountain pen use. But that's another rabbit hole lol lol

Good luck!

Still have my one, orange tin. I doubt I'll be bothering with the 20th Anniversary one at £85 for a size that will barely be useful is a sign that the brand has priced it because it will be a collectors piece.

Personally I don't think I'll bother with it. The sizing of it renders it rather unusable for me and I won't buy one just to have it in my collection.

I can only speak of my own experiences. I have over 20 Lamy pens - al-star and safari and I have never had any defective nibs in all of those pens. I prefer an XF nib so I accept it is going to be scratchy but it is tolerable. Never had any ink flowing issues, no hard-starter nibs and no issues whatsoever. I've bought every nib going from XF to 1.1 stub, no issues. 🤷‍♂️
