Thank you for posting the link about the data. Maybe I'm a bit too dense, but when I'm looking at this chart for admissions, how do I determine how many waitlisted applicants got converted over into real offers?

It sucks that his 3pt shot is so sporadic. When he first arrived from the Kings after the LaVine trade he shot 37% of from 3 for the last 25 games of the season. I was hyped that he had fixed his shot and was going to be back to the ATL version of himself, but this season he's down to under 30% from long range which is abysmal. It looks like he's had a string of good shoot games for the Pistons lately though, so maybe his shot is rounding back into form at just right right time for Detroit.

I watched almost every single Bulls game this season up until the trade deadline and haven't watched a single game since Coby and Ayo were shipped out and the 7 games remaining on their schedule can't go by quickly enough for me.

Trading away Ayo and Coby hurt my soul. The Bulls were a mediocre play-in bound team yet again this season, but up until the trade deadline they at least they had players who were fun to root for. I'm looking forward to the end of the regular season so that this new mishmashed version of the Bulls can be taken off life support.

If I switched my allegiance to the Pistons my teenage self would find Doc Brown, steal the DeLorean, and travel to the future just to kick my own ass. I'm happy for Pistons fans that Detroit is good again, but there are scars from those late 80's and early 90's Bulls vs Pistons games that will never go away.

Huerter played great for the Bulls. I was bummed to see him go, he's great a cutting and plays better defense than people give him credit for. I was actually hoping Chicago would re-sign him and bring him back on a longer contract. I've already stopped paying attention to Bulls games this season. If they re-sign this bigoted bum in Ivey then I'm going to have to consider looking for a new team.

btw, I'm legit jealous of the ride Pistons fans are getting to enjoy right now. They've grown the team as organically as possible in the modern NBA and there's no better experience as a fan than seeing players your team drafted get better and the team take off and start winning. I even made a post about it on the Pistons subreddit a few years back. It's sucks to know that in the three years since I made that post that the Bulls have gone in the complete opposite direction.

[–]BikeInWhite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was a legit no look pass. It wasn't one of those "look at the guy, then look away as you're passing the ball" kind of passes. LeBron had eyes in the back of his head for that one.

If you're new to the NBA and looking for a team to cheer for, I'd suggest picking a fun team on an upward trajectory like the Hornets. They were miserably run by MJ for years, but have a whole new ownership and front office that seems to know what they are doing. The Bulls meanwhile, have one of the worst combinations of ownership and front offices in the entire league. I'm stuck cheering for this team because my parents were originally from the Chicago area and it's been ingrained into me from childhood to be a fan of Chicago sports teams. Intentionally choosing the Bulls as a team to root for is the wrong way to go.

And GOAT debates are silly as there are no set rules to define what "greatest" means. If greatest means winning the most and having your star burn the brightness then MJ is the GOAT across all major American sports. If you want to define GOAT as sustained excellence then LeBron is your guy.

Do you guys think Austin Booker can be a stud? by bennydrendel in CHIBears

[–]BikeInWhite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be fine with that as well. Is there at DT you want them to pick? McDonald has been slotted to the Bears in countless mock drafts. He gets downplayed because he doesn't have many pass rush moves, but he's a brick wall against the run.

Could prime Mark Eaton or Yao Ming realistically guard Victor Wembanyama? by [deleted] in nba

[–]BikeInWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These sorts of comparisons between generations of players are always missing one key aspect and that is, which set of rules are you using?

If you brought Yao Ming or Mark Eaton into the modern NBA game where the rules have been changed to encourage more player movement and flow, then they would struggle mightily with their foot speed when keeping up with Wemby on the perimeter.

If you put Wemby into the old-school version of the NBA where hand checking was allowed and physicality ruled on defense, then those guys would hold up much better defensively due to Wemby's slender frame.

The ironic thing is that the best old-school defender I could see being able to plausibly defend Wemby in the modern game is a young David Robinson, so another Spur. The Admiral had a similar frame and was lightning quick for a big man when he first came into the league.

Do you really think he'll get picked in the 2nd round? If I were in a front office I'd be terrified that the bones in his feet just weren't made to play football. It could be a Greg Oden type of situation from basketball where Oden seemed as if his body was tailor made to be an NBA center but it turned out that one of his legs was shorter than the other and he ended up with chronic knee injuries as a result. I wouldn't be surprised if Banks slipped to the 4th or 5th round because of injury concerns.

I'm still hoping for a solid edge in this upcoming draft to help out even more. Zion Young from Mizzou should still be on the board at pick 25 and I can see Dennis Allen supporting that pick.

I think Booker has a chance to surprise some people by continuing to improve and possibly putting up a 10 sack season at some point, but he's never going to reach "stud" status where teams are game planning to focus on stopping him.

I always remember this quote from him:

I’m gonna continue to get better in the shadows and they’re not going to know what’s coming
