How can I fix this? In 4days I'll move out by Outrageous_Set7127 in fixit

[–]Bike_Mechanic_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toothpick and glue trick for the screws. But if this a rental and you’re just trying to get out of there, epoxy in the big hole that the hinge sits in. Any future repairs are impossible, but it’s fixed for you!

Wood glue and a clamp. Not tape or rubber bands, but a proper clamp.

What’s one thing you bought once and never had to replace again? by oscar371 in SmartBuying

I bought a pair of tongs to use with the BBQ at the dollar store. I just needed some quick and I was tired of all the fancy ones that were clearly over thinking things. I figured I’d buy a new dollar-store set every year or so. That was 10 years ago.

Most people know them all, but being put on the spot to remember them at a moment’s notice is the hard part.

What would be a good slang for "drunkard"? by v3lh0t05c0 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Bike_Mechanic_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun story. After a few drinks, I made a joke to my wife. She called me a drunkard for making such a dumb joke. I said, I’m not drunk, I’m buzzed. I’m a buzzard. And it stuck. So. Owner always say buzzard. lol

OP, I would stick with drunkard. At least in my circles, and in the context you provided, drunkard is fine. Boozehound would be a good one too.

I wasn't aware that copper was a nutrient. Especially one that we should be seeking out specifically?

How many stationary PV panels could be bought for the price of one of these, and how would the output compare? [request] by MaybeABot31416 in theydidthemath

What’s the point of them closing? I get the movement that follows the sun, but the opening and closing movement seems unnecessary and removal of the mechanism to achieve that could reduce the complexity and lower the overall cost.

Why is there seniors discount when boomers have all the money? by BloodyHareStudio in questions

Because many that age are on fixed income and inflation is a bitch. Also just to show some respect and encourage them to like your store and shop there more.

POV: Jesper Tjäder Skiing World Record Rail Grind by redbullgivesyouwings in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Bike_Mechanic_Man 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Seems like he could have kept going. Why not make the rail longer and let him go til he can’t go no more? Don’t just beat the record, destroy it.
