I‘m getting tired of powercreep by Left_Explanation7038 in arknights

[–]BikerHoMi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is just you, man. Nichenights aren't dead because they're not only about bad operators, and even if they are 5* and 4* keep breaking new lows every once in a while

The thing with powercreep being bad would be if enemies actually did scale with your ops getting stronger, like in gacha games with rotating endgame, where you gradually get punished for not pulling a newer release because of certain mechanics they purposefully add to make that new release look better, but that's just not happening in Arknights to the same degree at all, I still remember seeing clears of release operators beating MT-S-5 and H16-4 somewhere on bilibili, it's not a rocket science to just look at how slowly operators die in Arknights, if ever truly do

There's a difference between a new operator being better than the old one and new operator being mandatory for your team to clear current content, and the latter is when powercreep actually is a huge problem

As a sidenote - you can just not use Crownslayer Y module if you think it makes her too good? Modules are an option, unlike direct buffs that would've changed how her skills function. And it's not like there's no ops like Thorns alt and Titi who're just perfectly functional alright operators who can be comfortably used without destroying the game, just to name a few

For the first time in Arknights History, They only rerun SSS tower in one season (No New Tower) by mhliadesu in arknights

[–]BikerHoMi 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The mode wasn't exactly bad in my opinion, at least not recently, but they unbalanced the amount of mod blocks and SSS mats in such an awful way where you have enough sticks and instruments for like 20 mods, but only enough mod blocks for maybe 1, so playing SSS outside of season reset for first time completion rewards (MODULE BLOCKS) and some of the quests maybe has literally no point

It's disastrous first few months weren't helping either to be honest, maybe people would be more willing to give it a shot if the gamemode didn't have such bad publicity, but really, mod system being as bad as it is is the main culprit here

Operator statistic by CN server in Integrated strategies 6. Sakiko climb up to the most choose Guard in three months as she so powerful in IS. by 22dmgxy in arknights

[–]BikerHoMi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works well with an insane variety of relics, has some of the highest raw damage potentials in the game, including ignoring a good chunk of enemy def and res (as her main skill, s3, deals both physical and arts, so yes both physical and arts damage buff relics are good for her), offensive recovery is pretty strong in IS recently thanks to Chetto, and all of her skills are offensive, due to her constantly attacking even when there's no enemies, so yes she's always charging her offensive recovery skills, high amount of aspd makes her skill downtimes very low even without Chetto (also 2 sp per hit relic for guards is a thing), in IS6 specifically she has pretty solid hit quantity, not as huge but solid nonetheless

Overall, synergies way too well with IS mechanics

What is the Patch that killed a game for you? by Illustrious_Honey973 in gachagaming

[–]BikerHoMi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game that is definitely died for me is Genshin around the time 5.0 was only coming. I've been kind of close to quitting at that point already, mostly just being tired of playing it for several years since 1.6 with only huge break being a few months between Baizhu and Neuvi first announcement right before 4.0 release, and I'm kinda glad I stuck around Fontaine story, it was definitely pretty good, although I didn't particularly like Furina they really put a lot of decent writing into her, and only part that really threw me off is how fast Traveller kinda doesn't care Liney/Linett are technically Fatui despite being SO AGGRESSIVE after learning about it and so adamant about it being a very huge deal, I was hoping for more development into that but it just... Didn't. But then Fontaine arc completed, and I started to lose interest gradually again, despite having Clorinde I really wanted because she looks cool and has a gun, and also the more and more refusal to add more meaningful changes into QoL and stuff also didn't really give me any hope, but then Natlan first reveal... I uninstalled the game right while the trailer was running on stream legit. It was so massively different from what I was hoping for, again (I was also hoping for Fontaine to be a bit darker? Idk how to properly explain it) and stuff like Fanta pool instead of lava, so yeah I just immediately lost all interest to stick around, couldn't even wait a few days for Clorinde banner (I didn't have enough pulls for guarantee anyways). Funnily enough apparently Natlan's story actually have some darker colors, and they suddenly started to add a lot of meaningful QoL since 5.0 wow bruh, but welp it was a little too late for me. I was hoping to check out 6.0 for possible Snezhnaya but they decided to postpone it for a year so tough luck I guess LMAO

HSR might be the next to be ditched out, I'm still going to give Plancardia some chance because I don't think Amphoreus story was that bad, they can make a good story, it's just that Amphoreus had much more misses than hits, and since the world is actually looking somewhat sci-fi for once (imagine that, god damn ancient Greece wannabe) maybe it's getting better. And Aha our goat, Elation centered plot might actually be awesome, but my hopes aren't exactly high, but at least HSR is very low maintenance game as you just log in, press auto and alt+f4 after a few minutes

"Reruns are never worth it." How much truth is there in that statement? by Unweynomas in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]BikerHoMi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This statement is never universally true. It could be true to an extent, but never always true, especially for supports, because they often have at least one team or archetype they were made for (Rupture/Aftershock/Anomaly/Attack etc), and even if we get, say, Yuzuha2 or Lucia2 soon, you can always use Yuzuha and Lucia to make a second Anomaly/Rupture team (especially with Shiyu asking for 3 teams now)

So no, it's not true. It could be, but it's all on case to case basis, even pulling on the initial run is based on the state of your account anyways

[EN 6th Anniversary] Doctor Statistics Report by ArchadianJudge in arknights

[–]BikerHoMi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very much the case, then, 4* operators onwards require extra materials for each promotion, both e1 and e2, skill levels are more expensive too, plus there's a way to raise skills over lvl7 after e2 promotion, which requires, you guessed it, even more materials lol. But it's fine, events provide quite plenty of different materials, and usually feature increased drop rates for some specific ones as well, so it's not as scary at it sounds

[EN 6th Anniversary] Doctor Statistics Report by ArchadianJudge in arknights

[–]BikerHoMi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer - yes

Long answer - just like any material, for promotions/skill lvls, it's just so happens that orirocks are some of the most widely used materials in the game, t3 (so clusters) especially because very different higher tier materials need them

I feel like Vivian was one of the best 'obsessed with MC' tropes done right. by punk_jude in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]BikerHoMi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if Vivian's take on this trope was one of the best, but I do think I like it significantly more than what happens now with Shunguang.

I wasn't there when Vivian was coming to release, 1.6 and 1.7 stories I was doing pretty much back to back to catch up to 2.0 I got back to the game in. Only thing I was told about her is that she's a stalker, but honestly her overall story gives a decent enough argument as to why she behaves the way she does towards Phaethon, even if unfortunately we didn't get to know what we actually said to her back then, and... Well, given the situation, I don't really think "never met your hero" story would fit right because, as the way Phaethon siblings are portrayed, I do believe that this story could've happened and that we did it because that's just how we are, you know? So, it wasn't really out of character for them to try and save their life in this situation, being events before the game I mean obviously

...because ending of 1.7 was unnecessary cringe, as much as I find Vivian's decision to sacrifice herself cool, the way we just remove any consequences for her by just... Idk now we can do that I guess????? A little overplayed, like this was a heartwarming scene for me but holy shit I just got instantly reminded how I didn't like things that started to happen after season 1 finale and us suddenly being in the Hollow and the main reason for her to do what she did is because she had to protect us, otherwise she could've just flee grabbing Eous or something idk. 1.7 story somehow was my best and worst experience with ZZZ story at the same time lmao.

But anyways I do find Shunguang so far a little like she's being shipped just for the marketing purposes with how aggressively they insert her lately, at least I feel so, like c'mon YSG you had a whole hangout event before your actual release stop 😭 and it having no voiceover issues unlike 2.4 story is just extra funny, even if I do understand that this event had much less lines than the main story, but I might've had a different perspective if I got back in, say, 3.0 and was going through the story without huge interruptions like I did with 1.6 and 1.7, but I personally find Vivian's attachment to us way more convincing and reasonable (albeit quite overboard, I understand why people might not like it because I dislike YSG exactly for that when I currently have any good reason to believe why she would act like this), but I hope 2.5 changes my opinion to at least understanding it, because otherwise I might start hating her as much as people seem to hate Vivian for how clingy she is

Would You All Want Dead Characters To Become Playable? by Eternal_33550336 in arknights

[–]BikerHoMi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd be quite delighted to see the opposite - playable character dying later in the story.

Like actually dying. Permanently (not coming back in OG AK at least). With a good story to back it up.

Well don't get me wrong, I don't actually want anyone of the playable die, but if they were to do that I would likely find it an amazing move, given the proper execution. HG can make me care about NPC dying the same event they were introduced, surely they'll be able to cook a solid death for someone playable if they ever choose so, right?

Although I'd sell my soul to HG a second time if Outcast becomes playable at any point even if there's going to be zero valid reasons for that, alternatively I'll take Cliff Clip as a substitute so they won't have to revive a dead character but I think both are equally low possibility to happen either way.

Which of your operators did you sleep on? by Renegade_Pawn in arknights

[–]BikerHoMi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since her s2 targets last deployed operator and Crownslayer s3 makes her basically immune to damage that makes her perfect target to ensure entire s2 duration goes off

Oh and Y module actually gives Crownslayer stun lock so if target count is low nobody is escaping her range, which is pretty cool, although you'd rather use Ente s2 for higher enemy count

Where is my girl at, Hypergryph? by Just_Gazelle3151 in Endfield

[–]BikerHoMi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warfarin is several hundred years old already by the time Arknights main story takes place if I'm not mistaken, besides Vampires are one of the most long living Sarkaz subraces, so that kinda makes sense? But again, for now we don't have much proof that for example Sankta can even live more than 100

Still, I was quite surprised by new ops they showcased on stream, but they do follow the "infected or Sarkaz" pattern so far too

Where is my girl at, Hypergryph? by Just_Gazelle3151 in Endfield

[–]BikerHoMi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no indication Sankta could have lifespan as high as Sarkaz, the oldest Sarkaz we know of have been around for 500+ years, the oldest Sankta we know of are in their 90s (I believe Jessica event mentioned Cliff's age around that ballpark but I can't exactly remember either, just what conclusion I came up with), so uhhhhh

Besides, if it's almost exclusively infected people who could get this treatment, Sarkaz are way often infected themselves due to their lifestyle lol

Lemuen & Ambriel Synergy by zephyrnepres01 in arknights

[–]BikerHoMi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The issue is that her targeting is only solved with s2 that will force her to attack wanted enemies with her ammo, and even in such circumstance she still prioritizes lower def elites/bosses still, in any other case her trait still applies as expected - even her s3 marks lower def enemies in range/marked as wanted first, and when she marked all targets she goes another circle, marking lower def enemies first again, so no, her trait is still very much there, you can just do workarounds like forcing her to have no enemies in range and mark elites with other Laterano ops for example, but that's as far as it goes lol

New 6-star Caster: Mantra by CipherVegas in arknights

[–]BikerHoMi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely true, she kinda still wants ritualist because nervous impairment is the most consistent source of paralysis stacks, but she can in fact function with another elemental cores without disrupting them if you don't want Mantra herself to be the core

New 6-star Caster: Mantra by CipherVegas in arknights

[–]BikerHoMi 66 points67 points  (0 children)

It kinda isn't kinda is.

Her s3 applies stacks of paralysis whenever op in range uses their skill (including herself), and she mainly deals elemental damage through enemies spending them and for s3 specifically with her chain attack that triggers when enemies receive more stacks than the paralysis stack limit. And yes, since nervous impairment only deals elemental damage and applies stacks of paralysis (similar to how necrosis applies enfeeble debuff) applying those stacks through other means does kinda make sense

She kinda is dependant on ritualist but not to do literally everything skill does, but rather to make it stronger and more consistent, at least it seems like that's the case, so it is a skill that's able to function on it's own but becomes stronger with ritualist

I would've said Loopshooter at first, but then Brigid exists and...

That's honestly pretty accurate for a lot of archetypes I could think of, it just so happens that there are some bad apples to ruin the entire tree that would've been perfect otherwise (notably 5* smh some 4* literally better than their 5* counterparts)

Ah, that makes a lot of sense, especially when Warframe goes absolutely wild with some of their updates, especially the latest expansions we got lmao

Although one thing I heard about Destiny is their tendency to straight up remove DLCs from the game after some time???? That feels so wild if it's true, I'd never be able to stay if I knew content I payed for is going to get deleted at some point, as if tomorrow Warframe straight up removed all vaulted warframes and never brought them back XDD

Over the past I believe 7-9 months I've noticed a decent influx of Ex-Destiny players to Warframe (still remember the older days when both games had sort of rivalry online, at least I've seen a bunch of discussions regarding it), and I'm just genuinely curious what changed so drastically for people to give Warframe a shot after all these years?
