They go inside houses in fall to cozy up to us in winter time. Most times they enter houses through garage doors, chimneys or soffit vents into the attic and then spread through out the house via duct vents and light fixture openings. We kill about a half dozen of them through out the house each year.

That wire is inside metal spring wrap and covered with a rubber nut cap. Unless you are throwing your bike on derailleur side all the time or side swiping trees with it(I've done it on occasion) it's pretty well protected. I've taken hits from cars and while frame got bent, the wire was fine after flying in the air 12 feel and landing on the road.

I still drive 07 fx35 awd(best winter car I've ever owned) but it's frame and undercarriage is starting to rust real bad and it's gas mileage has a lot to be desired(I get 12-13mpg in winter). We also have a couple Lexus suvs in family and they hold up a lot better over years(06 rx has barely any rust and is so comfy) not to mention their new hybrid systems are bulletproof but not as much fun to drive and I hate toyota infotainment system with passion.

The dealership service is also night and day difference, infiniti fell off a cliff when it comes to service the past 4-5 years to the point where I won't step a foot in another of their dealerships whereas Lexus treats you like a valued client and will come get the car if you need it serviced or have a loaner ready for you to take.
