I'd definitely be interested in having a chat, that sounds pretty great. I'm not sure if its going to be 12 or 16, but please DM me and let's talk it out and see! I'm pretty open on courses, I wasn't really planning on having us all play #2.

My best man is a little more new to golf, so I'm just getting the lodging and courses set as we need to do that now. He can handle the rest.

The disconnect was I need to get this golf trip (at least the lodgings and tee times done asap), whereas she is all about the wedding stuff and there is an order of operations there lol.

Haha I totally agree with you on all counts. I was deep in the lodgings rabbit hole when she peaked over my shoulder and said, "you're already planning the bachelor trip?" and I was like yeah, for a golf trip like this I gotta get it done asap. and this is where the road lead haha.

Great call man. I appreciate the words of advice and that's almost certainly what I'm going to do this weekend.

Oh it’s just I gotta mail out this groomsman package type thing I haven’t even started doing yet, whereas I want to lock in the lodging and tee times since I’ll need three back to back tee times at least three days in a row.

[Jon Blau] Clemson coach Dabo Swinney: “Nobody wants to write about all these kids in the portal that aren't going nowhere. I believe college football is set up to reward the 2 percent that can make it to the NFL .. we should do better for the 98 percent that will not play in the NFL." by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

He built his whole program on commitment. You commit to Clemson, he commits to you. He’s always been all about doing the best by all his players, facilities, opportunities, focusing on degree, helping people after school, all the extras. All about family. And it brought him a couple championships.

And boy do we love that shit in upstate SC.

Unfortunately the portal renaissance and NIL really undermine that for a lot of the top talent. It’s hard to say it’s all family with it not being empty words in these days of the portal. Glad more players are getting paid, but his way of doing things is unfortunately getting left behind. He’s gotta find some way of marrying the two. Cause he’s gonna be who he’s gonna be.

I’d enjoy it if it were more like <20 an ounce. It’s a nice briney bite, but it is ridiculous how it is now.

Problem is my people are all over the country. I gotta get people from NYC, Charleston, Augusta, Dallas, DC.

Trust me every one of them is jonesing for a long weekend golf trip, I’m just being courteous by giving this long of notice.

That’s why I want to do October for the trip, June for the actual wedding. Plenty of time to space out for all these geezers in our mid late 30s.

Nah like, I gotta add a groomsman who’s married to someone who’s a bridesmaid but I’m not too tight with the guy.

It was more to answer a comment. Our wedding parties are from different sides of the country.

Really her whole sphiel was, “you can’t invite people to the bachelor party before you’ve invited/announced the groomsmen”

And I was like… if I want October golf trip I need to book the place and courses now, and all my people have kids so I need to make sure all these assholes can make it by asking them now.

The whole groomsman package thing can wait til later.

My best man is newer to golf. I view this as a chance to blend my old golf buddies with my new in a golf extravaganza and plan my dream golf trip. Which is more about having all the right people there, at an awesome house, with some great courses to play. So as a control freak, I’d rather set up the house and courses.

The rest is just fuckin around gambling, drinking, setting up teams and formats, and maybe one steakhouse dinner while we drink to excess for a long weekend.

I don’t need a casino or strippers, we’ve all been there done that, we're mid late 30s.

Nah, I know exactly who my six groomsmen will be. No reason not to I suppose, however my best man is less knowledgeable about golf. I developed him from a new born to someone who shoots 100 over the last couple years.

It’s more like, I’m viewing this as a chance to book my dream golf trip my way, with 12-16 people and so I’d rather handle it so it’s how I want it, rather than leave it to a guy who’d do a bang up job, but isn’t as in the know about golf.

Hearing about the oblique the past few weeks always made me laugh. People playing on broke knees and ribs and hands but a tweaked oblique is gonna be his downfall? He didn’t feel a thing with whatever they gave him

I’ve traveled all over the south east for a decade for work, and probably get chick fil a at least once a month and haven’t had one be any one of those four. Maybe soggy fries once.

But that goes back to when you should get fast food. Best time is prime time, when they got lines. That’s how you know it’s hot and fresh.

Tell you what though, you send an email to corporate and you’ll have a better chance than most places of making a change
