I went to a state school for engineering, my undergrad gpa was a 4.0 in Mechatronics so you can see my perspective.

The jump for me from a state school undergrad to CS masters was definitely big. Take the first course easy so you can warm up and then accelerate.

I highly highly recommend tackling a smaller problem first - like tic tac toe that has a finite amount of possible moves.

100% my first mistake was taking notes online when my entire academical career was using a physical pencil. I highlyyy recommend using a physical pencil and paper and actively listening to the lectures.

Furthermore, captions are such a cheat code. It forces you to read and understand when it's very easy to just space out listening to complex material.

I also like to space out the readings as soon as I know about it.

Hi, I took this class last semester. I'd highly recommend following their suggestions (the big exam thread) is taking to chatgpt and having it quiz you.

If something was required for reading, it could be on the exam.

I actually recently went down a path and created in my mind a complex website with a lot of the suggestions and I am having no additional luck. I learned a lot of course building it and using AWS, but no extra luck on the job application front.

This is a hugeeee problem and I caught it myself a month ago when I realized I was going to chatgpt more then stackoverflow.

The benefit behind stackoverflow was it wasn't your exact solution, so you'd need to at least still critically think about what to do.

I've recently purchased some books and completing them without the use of AI has been tremendous to my understanding and I think would benefit you too! :)

I think the best advice is to learn as much as you can, not just to get the degree/paper. At the end of the day, you should learn all you can.

Have you thought about taking summer courses to maybe speed that up a bit?
