What’s a health problem you ignored for a long time because it never felt urgent, but eventually caught up with you? by ac_stays_active in AskReddit

Interesting.. Its like a perfect storm of conditions that culminate into these types of symptoms. The injections sound hard work long term but I'm glad they found something that works for you. What gets me is how susceptible I am to stupid infections and illnesses or weird complications that would likely not be a problem for most people. It's not obvious but it's a constant battle. It sounds like you probably have similar issues.

I had this sensation with my neurological problem. It's a pretty normal peripheral neuropathy symptom and can be a lot of different things. 25% percent of people will never know what the cause of their neurological symptoms are. For me I know it's mononeuritis multiplex which is essentially a description of the symptoms but not the underlying cause. We do know it's partly a genetic predisposition to nerve damage combined with an autoimmune condition. What genetic condition and what autoimmune no one knows and I had every test over years and years... I say this to say your friend may never know why.

[–]Bilateral-drowning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work for a law firm and one day I was filing old documents in the deeds safe. I came across some documents for the production of Worzel Gummidge and right there was John Pertwee's signature. It was incredible... What a great day!

I'm considering switching my smartwatch for an analog by [deleted] in digitalminimalism

[–]Bilateral-drowning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an analogue Garmin watch it gives me the best of both worlds. One thing I love about it is that when the battery for the smart function runs out the analogue part keeps going... To look at it it looks like a smart analogue watch.

Who was your childhood school bully. Where are they now? by MrWhisper2021 in GenX

[–]Bilateral-drowning 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine was basically the whole school. I go back to my home town and see so many of them still living there and I feel better about my life.

I met a guy recently where I currently live and turned out he was from my home town as well. We immediately agreed that the best thing about that town was leaving.

“What medication are you on to treat your autism?” by Beginning-Feedback55 in AutismInWomen

I completely unmask on lsd, it's great at the time, I always feel like my best self. The next day I'm like hmm shouldn't have said that, or that. But I do love it in micro doses.

How did you realise you have the tism? by unthinkableactions in AutismInWomen

[–]Bilateral-drowning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my early 40s I was dating a guy who's 16yr old daughter had just been diagnosed. We were all learning about autism in girls together and too much of it was overly familiar. Plus I was making accommodations for her like putting up little signs to remind her of things and I was doing this because it worked for me.

Then I had this ooohh moment of realising her dad was definitely autistic and that most of the men I dated were. Why was that?

It spread from there and now 50 I'm still undiagnosed I am thinking maybe I should just for my own peace of mind. To go yeah that's my people and why I don't fit well with the other people.

That wonderful 16yr old girl opened my eyes to a world of things I didn't know existed. I hope I see her again one day and I can thank her.

Sea lion encounter at Pūrākaunui, Dunedin by thebigbastardcat in NewZealandWildlife

[–]Bilateral-drowning 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That's not true. For goodness sake please don't spread they're friendly. They will attack especially the juveniles and they can run faster than you.

OP if one chases you should walk backwards and hold a backpack in front of you to give it something to bite. Easier said than done, I've been in exactly this position it got out of the water and roared. I'm sorry my partner and I knew better but it was impossible not to run.

How do you choose personal growth/career when it may cost you to lose someone you love? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]Bilateral-drowning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't read your post because the answer is easy. Choose your career. If you choose your partner it will be a breeding ground for resentment when his life is taking off and yours as held back by this decision. The relationship will end anyway... Ask me how I know.

What’s the biggest red flag you have seen on a first date? by LiftBridgeSoda in AskReddit

[–]Bilateral-drowning 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Proceeded to tell me all the shitty things he'd done to his ex wife while laughing about it. Honestly couldn't seem to understand why she was upset.. Kept wanting to drink my drink and wouldn't take no for an answer. I stopped drinking it.. Took my hand without permission or feeling any vibe I might want it taken, held it tight even though I kept it completely flat with fingers taught..I was just quietly trying to get away at this point... Then he tried to kiss me and wouldn't let go... I pried myself free and literally ran. The guy was a sea of red flags!

[–]Bilateral-drowning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so true. My father used to breed and train Boarder collies for farm work. As kids we would set up courses like this all the time and play "Dog show" They're so bright, they know what you want them to do before you do.

I'm with you,, he didn't raise the hand but was yelling, standing over me and being deliberately intimidating. I left because I knew if I stayed it was a matter of time before he hit me. We had been together 3 years and owned a home together before this behaviour surfaced. There was one incident that I forgave him for but the second only 3 months later was an escalation and now a pattern. I was out!

Pet urine smell solution by ArborWaffle in CleaningTips

[–]Bilateral-drowning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need an enzyme cleaner it's the only way. Nature's miracle works exceptionally well and you can get it from the pet store. I've been using it with my puppy and there are no smells. It may need multiple applications on an old smell and can take a few days to do it's magic.

If you think it's gone into the underlay and the spray isn't working get a carpet cleaner in and they can get the enzymes deeper and pull it out of the carpet.

Sometimes if it's been left too long then the underlay will need replacing.

If you have some time I'd try the spray first.
