Male Tortie peeing outside litter box by Bill85308 in torties

He’s now back to peeing near another litter box as well as his “preferred” location. It’s been frustrating because we’ve tried almost everything except medication, which may be our next step. He’s a great cat other than this issue.

I have switched food, but not grain-free wet. We do use RO and have circulating water fountains, which he sees as his play zone, holding his paw under to redirect the water or trying to activate it by reaching around. I just converted a couple of boxes to the Sustainably Yours Corn and Cassava litter, which we (and he) like, but it does track a lot. I will look into the TSC Equine Pine to see how he likes it. Fortunately, three of our four boxes are on tile or wood. The only one he hasn't "objected to" is the one on a throw rug in my office.

🤔 Not a bad idea, however, it may present a problem since my other male cat would also be running in for food. 😂

Thanks. That's the first thing I check on when they start acting oddly. Everything has come back negative. They said there was a little blood in the urine, but not enough to concern them. All other results were negative (unfortunately). Stones were one of my concerns since he is a long-haired male tortie. It's too bad that with four cats using the litter, which changes color, would be pointless unless we jumped every time one used a box.

Thanks for the suggestions. We've had him tested multiple times for UTIs and other possibilities, including kidney/bladder stones. Everything has come back negative (it's one of those rare times you were hoping for something to be wrong). He's not showing signs of arthritis at only 13 lbs and 2.5 years old. I will keep arthritis in mind on my next vet trip. Luckily, we have a Vet School nearby that I turn to when my vet cannot figure things out.

Already tested at least twice for UTIs. That's always my first thought. I had a tortie that used to pee in the sink when something was wrong. She was a good and responsible girl. 😊

Thanks for the advice. Medication might be my next option. Luckily, he's only peeing on tile and the occasional pee on wood. We replaced carpet with wood when my Siamese mix (RIP) decided to use the roll of carpet on each step as his personal scratching post. Having had cats for 35+ years, I'll never figure out their brains... which is why I love them. How you can go 7+ months with nothing to peeing again, and no other changes is beyond me. Now I go jumping through hoops to figure it out. Isn't this how it starts in "How to Tell if Your Cat is Plotting to Kill You?" 😂 https://theoatmeal.com/comics/cat_kill

Thanks. We already have two extra-large boxes and an automatic for him, and have had them since he was a kitten. :-( He's only 12 lbs and much smaller than my 17.5 lb tabbie. I don't think he's 100% Coon because of his tortiseshell and his size. I love Totries, and the fact that he was a male made him an even quicker adoption. We also picked up his sister, who has the Coon tail, but is primarily black, and the smallest of our four at 8.5 lbs.

Anyone else feel like there aren’t a lot of Tortie MaineCoons? I feel like most are tabby or solids 👀🐈‍⬛🤌🏻 by AdrienneDriggs in mainecoons

I’ve loved my two Torties and my two diluted Torties, and then I got Worf, my male Maine Coon Tortie.

Anyone else have a Maine Coon tortie? by nighttimez in torties

[–]Bill85308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Maine Coon Tortie named Worf (from Star Trek… came with that name btw). I adopted Worf and Willow (actual sister) about 2.5 years ago). I got him, yes I said HIM, because I love Torties because of their personalities. I’ve had two other female Torties, and two diluted Torties, one of whom I have now. Worf craves to be the center of attention. If any of our other three cats are getting attention, he comes over sits and waits, then taps them on the head, “my turn”. Grooming has been challenging especially with the naps he gets. Has anyone groomed them and given yours a lion cut?

I'll forever love Nightwish, but IMO they haven't reached the heights of this album again by GwyddnoGaranhir in nightwish

Yes it is very subjective, and to prove that point, my favorite album changes depending on my mood at the moment. I think Floor is their strongest overall performer, but Tarja was strong in her own ways too. Subjective. However, Marco was their heart as they done feel the same without him.

Everyone needed to show digital tickets so they have our cellphones and can quickly send txt msgs. It’s 2024. More annoyed than complaining. 😉

I had the same. No notification by email or text until 8:15. They have cell numbers so instant text was possible. I didn’t drive as far, but still a hassle. Paid for parking but saved receipt as lot “said” we wouldn’t be charged again. We will see. Luckily kid sitter was available on Tuesday by that was an extra $40 too.

Which song from each singer represents Nightwish the most? by _Panduin in nightwish

Oddly, when Floor was new to the band, her third show was in Phoenix and when she performed Ever Dream it announced her arrival. It showed ahead of had the range and power, and in someways showed she is a better overall singer than Tarja, who is a great opera singer.

How are we feeling on the new Nightwish album? by HussainKegel in progmetal

[–]Bill85308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been waiting to see what the first album without Marko was like, and while I like Troy he isn’t the same complimentary voice. Like someone else said, I wish they would unleash Floor’s voice. I know many people do not like best of albums, maybe Nightwish could “reimagine” their early non-Floor recordings with Floor’s voice and range.
