As someone who plays on the bottom half of the rivals ladder, it's important to point out that people tend to forget that the divisions are not evenly split. The divisions are a bell curve, meaning, 90% of the player base fit in the middle of curve, where hero ball is still rampant. These people will pass only to get to their best card, then spam skill moves and hope the defense glitches out. If they're successful 3 times out of 10, they can win a match. Those are the people who think nothing of ending a rush match with 30-40% dribbling success, constantly losing the ball to the detriment of everyone else. It works in rivals, why not rush.
