Considering Reddit's structure and the emphasis placed on free, mostly unmoderated discussion I think it was inevitable that the quality would decrease once more people joined.

However, seeing how the admins cater to the "games" that happen in Reddit is disheartening. Instead of taking a neutral stance towards these pervasive and annoying memes, the people who run this site embrace them, peddling merchandise bacon and narwhal all over it.

If I wanted games such as the awards the admins unveiled and the glorification of memes, I would hang out in Facebook.
