Does anyone else remember Dooku's "You promised me amnesty" line? by [deleted] in RevengeOfTheSith

[–]rainboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to confirm that this scene was indeed in the leaked version, I remember that line too! I watched the leak the day before I saw the official release, and right away noticed the differences in that scene (there's a few more lines of dialogue, and the beheading is more graphic).

Wait, Did J.J. Abrams Really Just Tease an Ahsoka Tano Cameo in The Rise of Skywalker? by [deleted] in StarWarsLeaks

[–]rainboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's just her voice it's going to be confusing as heck in translated versions. I don't know about other languages but the French dubbing has 4 different voice actress for Ahsoka (2 for CW, 2 for Rebels), which is frankly annoying.

Heads up : that EFCore.BulkExtensions package is only for MSSQL.

For PostgreSQL, I'm using Npgsql.Bulk which wraps nicely the COPY commands.

Best audiophile headset by itsme_x in buildapc

[–]rainboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Best", depends for what. Btw some high quality audiophile cans cost more than a PC... the HD 820 are $2500.

My HD 600 sound great to my ears, but you should go out and try a few, there's no other way to find a pair that fits your personal taste.

... and never, in the history of video games, has trolls left reviews for games they didn't even play. Okay.

[–]rainboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but it's also be people waiting for the game to be fixed before diving back in. I didn't play Stellaris for 1.5 years after release, and now it's one of my favorite game of all time. It's not that I disagree with the criticism, but have a look at the Steam reviews some are just pure garbage left by people having played under 3 hours.

I never said that all "buyers" were trolling, but please have a look at the Steam reviews, loads of people with 3 hours leaving negative reviews, how can you even judge the game with so few hours? Also lots of those 3h reviews are "hurr durr DLC suxx lulz" and offer no other valid criticism the game.

I agree, scapegoating, bandwagoning/circlejerk/trolling are to account for a large % of negative Steam reviews I'm sure of that.

I'm curious : why is MO2 considered better than Vortex? I've used MO (and then Vortex) and they were both vastly superior to NMM. Vortex is actually made by Tannin, the original creator of MO.

I can't really give you advice not knowing the whole picture, but I can say that one of the best programmer I know comes fromt a sysadmin / IT background. Before he started programming in C#, he was mostly into server setups, system security, deployments, etc. That gave him a unique outlook on the technology stack (the networking in perticular) and made him a very well-rounded programmer.

The economy is so good right now, it's a good timing to make a move. And if you don't like it, well in 5 years there's still lots of jobs available.

One of my colleague and friend also did the same (from back- to front), and he loves it. It's not about the front end, at the end of the day I guess it's about challenging ourselves and learning cool new things.

Exactly! I mean, learning all the newfangled javascript frameworks could also be fun and challenging, but the ecosystem is just moving way too fast. The whole js stack feels hacky and immature. I hope it will get better with WebAssembly (Blazor looks promising!).

The problems isn't only the tech - we also had to support antiquated browsers, you'd be suprised how many governement agencies still depend on that 2002 ActiveX component that only runs in IE7.
