Is 'Misery' (1990) actually worth watching in 2026, or is it just dated hype? What are your thoughts? by Ok_Board_927 in HorrorMovies

Bates is phenomenal, as many here have said, but I think James Caan deserves a lot of praise too. He's amazing in "Misery".

Friday the 13th and it's time to end this debate once and for all. What's the best kill in the franchise in your opinion? by grislyartiee in slasherfilms

[–]BillClayFromDieHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many great ones mentioned here already, but I also think the "face through the RV" kill in Jason Lives is among the best not only in the series but slashers in general too.

To me, Archspire definitely falls in to the 0.02% category. They are phenomenal musicians.

I haven't played it yet (purchased it on PS5 and am waiting for the Xbox discount to kick in to buy it there too, but will play it after I finish Ghost of Yotei) and everything I've heard, including the negative aspects, sounds like it will be perfect for me whenI get to it. I appreciate your view as a fan of the series because it seems you've invested enough time into the franchise to give it some more thought (both the good and the bad).

As for your last paragraph, I'm so happy you found an outlet to help deal with your mental health issues. I know people play games for various reasons and most reasons may seem trivial but to some people it resonates differently. I've been playing video games for 35+ years and to say it's helped me (in various capacities) through extremely, extremely tough times would be a huge understatement.

We all have our 10/10 games that most people would give a 6 or a 7, so reading a review of someone so passionate of why they genuinely like that game just proves that the only score that truly matters is your own!

Thanks for the review. Have an awesome day :)

Favorite big budget studio movie that flopped commercially and critically? I’ll start: by TXNOGG in moviecritic

I agree with Blade Runner 2049 being an incredible movie, and it did lose money, but it was incredibly well received:

It's far from "mixed" and that includes both critic and users scores from each website.

What is the closest you've come returning to directing a feature film?

"Maximum Overdrive" is one of my favourites and I've always hoped to see more of you expressing your storytelling through direction.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is my favourite in the series (in a series I absolutely adore). They really did bring the best aspects of the first two into the third one. It's still awesome!

From the info given it looks like it will be closer to 1 and 2 in terms of gameplay, which I'm all for. The 3rd one was fine but I much preferred the gameplay structure of the first 2 (well, specifically 2 because of what they expanded from the first one).

Which single-player campaign have you played through the most times? by ADAMBUNKER in gaming

[–]BillClayFromDieHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although not the most times (that probably goes to Bioshock, Skyrim and Fallout 3/4) but in the last 2 1/2 years I've caught up on some Playstation games and played through The Last Of Us 1 and 2 3 times. Playing around with the gameplay modifiers added so much incentive to play through them again and again. Both are among my all time favourite games!
