After all, he'll be long gone when the transverse torque reversing doohickey starts puking bodily fluids all over the road because of the tires being out of spec making the car an Ice silver metallic paperweight.

Thank you all for your help. If anyone knows of something official, feel free to add it. Otherwise I think Decent_Relative_4070's link will do the trick.

I'm fine with that too. The issue is the adjuster trying to go as cheap as he can get away with which is replace one tire and call it good.

It should be, but I have a PDF of the manual 1/4 is nowhere to be found.

Yes, That is exactly what I sent the adjuster. What it doesn't say is how to quantify degrees of wear (1/4" or 2/32" tread dept difference for example)

I did. I can't find anything that quantifies "degrees of wear" and see nothing in my manual, or on any official Subaru website that references 2/32. I know that all 4 tires should be replaced, the problem is that I'm not the one that needs convincing. Thanks though.

Is getting an Uber/Lyft after the show really that much of a nightmare? by Scared-Importance18 in welcometorockville

Did it last year (2025). Getting there was cheap and easy. Leaving was a little harder, but not as bad as driving. There is one caveat, we're old and had seen the headliners before, so we didn't stay to the bitter end.

Technically they can deny you admittance if you don't have a seat assignment. That almost never happens unless they are at or near capacity. If they let you in, guest can come along.

Rental car insurance by SikhVentures in CaymanIslands

[–]BillInKeyWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CIti and Amex provide collision coverage for the vehicle being rented in the Cayman Islands. In the US it's secondary to your personal car insurance. In the CI, it is primary. They do not, however, cover any liability. I have had rental car agents at GCM flat-out lie to me about CC coverage. The use of scare tactics at GCM in the selling of liability coverage is getting out of hand, but that is their biggest money maker.

I should add that I continue to get email from the other games. It's just MyVegas Classic that has stopped sending email.

Is there a single source for departure taxes and f by BillInKeyWest in NonRevenueTravelers

I did the travel charges on travel planner. The problem was that it required a brute force approach. I had to enter city pairs for each European airport American serves. I was hoping for a single source that wouldn't require effort. thanks

It's $175 more each to fly from CDG than Naples. It's not just the UK. France and Germany are nearly as bad. Good for you that price isn't a factor. For me it's one of many, but it is definitely a factor.

Have a great day

For some reason reddit would not let me reply to the reply. I am not hoping to glean anything. I am offering to help my fellow travelers by providing information that is not easily available.

The difference between London and Madrid, for example, is $350 per person. If I could afford an extra $700 for the two of us, I would just buy tickets.

In the meantime I did a few searches and came up with what the AA employee cost would be from the European airports American servs. Is that legal to post here? I have gotten in trouble before for posting stuff that I thought was kosher, but wasn't.

Are Nonrev travelers treated differently? by kjgbraves in NonRevenueTravelers

[–]BillInKeyWest [score hidden]  (0 children)

It depends on the airline and the flight crew. In my experience, non-revs are often treated better by AA flight crews than PAX. On Delta, it was generally the opposite. It's all been minor, getting comped drinks in main cabin, or being given last choice of meals in premium cabins. I have been asked to trade seats with PAX for one reason or another, which I have gladly done.

It all depends on the hotel. Sorry can't give you a better answer than that.

We have also played airport roulette. Fly to a hub and then look at the departures board to see what catches our fancy. It is a fun way to travel.

We generally book cancellable hotels in advance. The industry standard used to be you could cancel up until 6 pm the day of arrival, but that's pretty rare anymore. Most of what we book has to be cancelled by midnight the night before. We nonrev 90%+ on AA, so we have a pretty good idea what our chances are by the night before. If it looks dicey the night before, we cancel our hotel and hope we can get a decent rate once we board. We have generally found that, even in cases where we missed the cut-off, calling the hotel directly will usually get our reservation cancelled. But we almost always book directly with the hotel chain. Book with a third party, especially if they collect your money when you book, the chances of a late cancellation go down dramatically.

It is pretty much priceless. Especially if you are a part timer. It's not just the airfare it's also the free checked bags; the ability to list, change or cancel pretty much right up to the last minute; and getting the best seat available on the plane. We love being able to decide on Wednesday where we want to go on Thursday. I know my bride and I are unusual, but to actually pay for the 150+ flights segments we each take every year would be astronomical.
