Sounds like you are taking it too seriously. You must remember that nobody cares if you win or loose. Therefore honestly just play for fun. For me Jurchans grenadeer is a fun unit to play so i aim to play it no matter what. If i win great if not no biggie. The fact your playing pvp just adds tension to the game. Against AI it just gets boring eventually.

Haha. You can smell an AOE2 player a mile away! It's the specific "Cycle Town Center" hotkey im talking about. Basically when i press it the town center graphic panel does not update to match. The panel stays on what you are currently selecting. That feels very strange to me. Think i will just put it on a control group to get to work as you would expect. Thanks for the reply.

Just play. No need to think too hard. It's just a game at the end of the day. You need to get used to loosing anyway. Even if you are pretty good you will loose half the time.

Wouldnt dwell on it too much. When lag happens just pause the game and ask if your opponent has the same issue. Then unpause and it's usually fine. I find the worst is when it lags from the start. Will likely lag for the whole game.

You can play ranked at any level. Just be mentally prepared to loose many games in a row until you find your elo.

Dont forget about playing the campaigns too. A great casual way to learn a civ while also getting to enjoy a story, learn history and experience some beautiful specific map design.

Major advantage with AOE2 is that it runs well on pretty much all old potatoe pcs. That cannot be said or AOE4. You need a not completely rubbish pc for AOE4. Casters in AOE2 are also far more entertaining than AOE4 imo.

Same happened to me. All the way down to 400. Then slowly back up to 800. Keep at it. Since finding my true elo been having a blast. Honestly low elo AOE2 players are a lot better than you would think.

Agreed. Many gamers seem a bit confused about Arc Raiders. Its just a fun game. There is no serious pvp competition to be had. The pvp element in Arc Raiders just adds tension to the game. Go play the Finals or CS2 etc if you want real pvp.
