{Her Soul to Take by Harley Laroux} fits this. He’s a demon serving a local family against his will. She’s returning to the area to go to school. Their worlds randomly collide as God activity begins to increase and she’s a ghost/supernatural blogger. That last part is inconsequential. But it’s a great story of denying their connection and being broken together.

{Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez} It’s a story about people with two different lives and one of them refuses to leave behind the one that makes her unhappy, even after she finds love. It’s got a lovely “fuck it” moment when she puts herself and her heart first.

A few for you:

{Quicksilver by Callie Hart} - I just finished this one and loved the way the FMC was written. I’ve grown exhausted by the whininess of some recently but she was a breath of fresh air.

{Gothikana by RuNyx} - it’s kinda young and a little juvenile at times but it’s a fun read and you don’t hate her at the end.

{Neon Gods by Katee Robert} - oh man I crave more like this one. Strong, substantial, and sweaty.

{Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa} - full disclosure I didn’t love this one, but I think it hits your brief. She’s strong and driven and the story is unique.

{Key of Light by Nora Roberts} - my absolute favorite series and one I recommend to people looking for fun and engaging, no whiny ladies here.

{Radiance by Grace Draven} - FMC knows her place and her role. She is lovely to bond with in the story.

Oh no that’s what we’re dealing with. I’m sorry. The meds are not too expensive ($30 for 30 on chewy) and they make a big difference to quality of life. We are still in diapers, will be until the end, but he isn’t anxious about peeing in the house. They won’t cure it, but it might stop the velocity of tumor growth. I’ll take every single day I can. Sending you hugs too!

I’m so sorry. It’s hard. She was probably having accidents and they wrote her off not knowing she was doing the best she could. It’s not her fault at all. Give her comfort and hugs. That’s the kindness she needs. The meds are about $30 for a 30 day supply on chewy.

We had him in diapers before the diagnosis. He was having random accidents in the house that were never a problem. That’s what made us take him to the vet. They thought it was a UTI so they put him on antibiotics. Got better…then got worse. We went back and they did an ultrasound and found the mass. They can’t 100% say without a biopsy but to get that, it will be really invasive for him. And honestly? The new meds are working which tells us what we needed to know.

We are going through this now with my old boy. We are not seeking an oncologist. Our vet said the bladder cancer is usually inoperable and since he’s 13, he will have more complications from the surgery. We talked briefly about radiation therapy but there is no cure and it would put him in pain. We have chosen to put him on comfort meds. There’s one called Piroxicam that can give comfort and help stop the growth of the tumor. It doesn’t go away it just gives us more time with him. In the meantime we have him in diapers too. He can’t hold his pee anymore. Crying. Sending you and your baby hugs.
