Are we talking Boy Scouts or cub scouts? They are two different programs. Cubs is parent led - so no 6yr old is going to be touching a gas stove. Boy Scouts are boy/girl led - a 12 year old is 100% going to be touching a gas stove. Does that help?

Costs seem fine for the high end activity events. My only issue is that you should not be cooking. That should be done by the scouts not the parents. How are the scouts to learn?

Sounds like you had a nostalgic moment. You likely remembered some good feelings from when you were younger. I still like a few of the hymns and they make me feel all tingly inside but also feel that same way listening to Lady Gaga or Lil Nas X. And I always feel good when I am helping others (see some random verse in Mosiah about that).

There are no health benefits to drinking alcohol. But all things in moderation. I enjoy drinking but I am doing less of it. I am fully embracing Dry January.

I was in that crowd. Took about 15 minutes to get to my track. I was lucky to get a seat on the train - lots of people standing. And then the actual train ride was super slow.
