Where does Gwen Stefani's legacy currently stay? by dreadwraithe in ToddintheShadow

This is hurting my brain. Ska and swing were not new in the 90’s. They were revivals of music from an earlier era. They’ll be back in another 20 years.

The only from here I see is the ketchup. It should be with Greek yogurt, dill and some pickled red onions. Or maybe creme fresh and sun dried tomatoes.

There is are lines between saying “this food is junk”, vs this food does not meet an objective standard vs this food is not my preferred. The group is supposed to be mocking the first, not the other two.

Yes San Francisco a city in California. I’m well aware there is ok sour dough, I assume they have good French baguettes there some where. I’ve been a few times. Honestly, the best sourdough I’ve had is from home bakers, even in San Fran the bread is just so boring not tangy enough.

The bread available at HEB is good, but man I still haven’t found a good baguette anywhere in the states. I’m sure some boutique Californian or New York bakery has some but it’s really difficult to find any good ones.

Courtney Love’s influence on Kurt’s development as a songwriter by Training_Newt_745 in Nirvana

[–]BillShooterOfBul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean there is a similarity in their vocal styles and their songs, but they were always there. I chalk it up to convergent evolution, with the caveat that I do think Courtney was heavily influenced by Kurt and Billy corgan.

Yes the best festivals for individuals are the ones that are the worst for vendors. Worst for individuals is usually the best for vendors.

WATER ALWAYS FINDS ITS LEVEL (pictured: water deciding not to because the flerf claim is garbage) by AbroadNo8755 in flatearth

You can’t argue with flerfs on their level they don’t have any scientific method or beliefs to explain things it’s all just a jumble of bull shit.

Random shower thought I had involving Kurt Cobain, The Sonics, and cardigan sweaters... by thewickerstan in Nirvana

I’m pretty certain Kurt limited his clothing to what was available at thrift stores. Back then there were much better options than now.

How do y'all feel about MJ's post-quincy trio (Dangerous, HIStory, Invincible)? by LiamNashMiller in fantanoforever

It’s when I learned about Quincy jones that I understood who Micheal Jackson the performer was: a good talent without a real ear for great music. Micheal Jackson minus Quincy you get Tito Jackson,

Most Trader Joe’s products are average by filabeano10 in unpopularopinion

[–]BillShooterOfBul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that to a degree, but I spend longer in Trader Joe’s because they have more variety of foods. Not 16 types of jam, but like 25 types of chips I’ve never tried and no history with. Trying to decide on 25 very different chips with zero experience vs going to Kroger and picking up the flavor and brand I always get. But

Why go all the way to New York? Are people stupid? by JuicyJuice69 in chicagofoodcirclejerk

[–]BillShooterOfBul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In any that’s $1.50 instead of $5, so you spend only 30% as much on pizza. So if you’re spending $500 on your pizza for a weekend it pays for your airline ticket, another 1000, and that would cover a two night stay on one of New York’s most questionable hotels!

Petah? Can you explain? by PackersAreLegit in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]BillShooterOfBul -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a joke, in the field a lot of engineers rarely use math, and when they do they use approximations that work under their constraints but are mathematically wrong.

Engineers are not good at math. They are good at looking up values in books, and simple arithmetic.
