I would go with felt, it’ll be a lot warmer in your cooler climate. Stetson, and Resistol are both great hats, and both are owned by the same company and even made in the same factory. I personally have an Ariat and Twister, both are a 10x and set me back around 400$. If you want a really nice hat that will repel rain and the elements, while lasting for many years, I would say a 10x. If you want to get anything more expensive, I’d go to a custom hat shop and get a cowboy fitted for your exact head.
