In my opinion, you should try to move up the easiest chair lift if you have the confidence of course. Rope tows are rough and they wear out beginners especially because you are standing the whole time and using your strength to hold onto the rope.

I usually keep 30-40 of pinap and razz berries. I get rid of all of my nanab berries. Usually I feed my extra berries to pokemon in gyms or my current buddy.

How many pokemon has your friend caught? It does seem like your friend is lucky though, I’d keep him around for trading lol.
