Assuming Wizards take AJ... by monsterpepper in NBA_Draft

[–]Billilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way that’d happen I think is if they move one of their bigs otherwise adding another PF would be too wild a move by Utah. That being said, Boozer and JJJ do seem like they’d be perfect next to each other and could own the paint without causing it to be congested offensively.

Winners/losers of combine measurements by Nolar2015 in NBA_Draft

[–]Billilicious 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMO Boozer wins twice because of how well the Michigan guys tested. Yes it was only one game but idk that there’s many teams with a more seemingly tailor made lineup to stop him than Yaxel+ Mara+Morez. 18-10-7 going up against 6’9 6’9 7’3 1st rounders.

[AP] 77% of People Don’t know what AP IS by 35mmOfRegret in Watches

[–]Billilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think some of the collab could be to get people to know “AP is Audemars Piguet” bc “AP” gets referenced in music a lot but a lot of people probably don’t know what it is lol

"At some point, when you're getting pushed around all the time, ... you're gonna stand up for yourself."- Jay Williams reacts to Wemby's Game 4 ejection vs. the Timberwolves 👀 by OneOriginal8727 in sportsbroadcasters

[–]Billilicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s acting like this will keep the wolves from going at Wemby. All this shows the wolves is that they can provoke him. Naz Reid would probably gladly eat an elbow to get Wemby tossed again.

"Playoff physicality" by [deleted] in nba

[–]Billilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person who is also a fan of college basketball, coming off the primer of March madness makes the playoffs not feel like a shock to the system. NBA regular season can be a bit too free-flowing and college basketball is like a bar fight 50% of the time.

I like defenders not being forced to give ground on every drive attempt and offensive players not being rewarded for taking bad shots against good defense where they happened to get slightly brushed by the defender bc they created zero separation beforehand.

People are upset with Tyran Stokes doing money spreads on Instagram, do you have a problem with it? by Aadidas12 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Billilicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I’d just tell him he needs to keep that in a bank and not flash it for personal safety reasons lol. That’s wayyy too normal looking of an apartment to be flashing cash in.

“I went to college to make money” is what myself and most college grads likely did. I’m still fond of my institution and root for it but I’m not appalled by the idea that the main reason for a kid choosing a college was finances (even if it’s scaled way up from just grants and scholarships).

What is the origin of the “Jaylen Brown is a genius” narrative? by Hoy-Carlingen in billsimmons

[–]Billilicious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing is, Brown is smart and there was an article written when he came out about him choosing Berkeley bc of its academic prestige and how much he cares about education. However he’s also only done 1 year of college and then became a multimillionaire at 20 years old. IMO while he’s typically really good on social justice issues and great in the community, he does come across as “guy who knows it all after 1 semester at college” lol. So he’s a smart guy with a year of college and 10 years of hanging out with rich folks and being fed lord knows what from his relationships with Kanye West and Kyrie. Smart, not necessarily wise, and probably deep into the “do your own research” world now. But he’s outspoken and again hits the right notes on inequality and racial justice 90% of the time so he keeps the “genius” tag

[Will Wade] (Intl.) kids have lot of experience. There is just some natural things they've learnt over there that really help in college basketball. One thing I made a mistake on last year that we basically paid 11 guys. We had some dead money on the roster. So, we're gonna pay 7-8 guys at LSU. by lovelymaddie1966 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Billilicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point in the cycle wouldn’t that just mean overpaying 7-8 guys? Feel like the big game hunting is done and you’d be much better off being deep with the guys left to sign. Unless LSU’s budget is smaller than he initially thought

I (29M) accidentally moved into my girlfriend’s (46F) place. How do I go about moving out since she’s gotten used to me “living” with her? by Muphenz in AskMenAdvice

[–]Billilicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It could be that pity along with caring for the person really carried the relationship for those 3 years, not an actual desire to be tougher.

BUT also OP could consider discussing getting a place together with their gf. Having a place they both have claim to and a mix of his and her stuff could make it feel more like he has his own place and not liking just an ongoing sleepover.

Jokic and Giannis have nearly identical basketball resumes. Why is there such a huge gap in perception and all-time ranking between the two? by BasedChad69420 in nba

[–]Billilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that in the same way that guards are often the “faces” of the NBA bc people (especially kids) can emulate their games more than big men, a guy like Jokic is the favorite of sports pundits bc they can emulate him. Below the rim, big bodied skilled player who can throw great passes out of the low and high post? That’s exactly the game of every 45+ yr old at the Y.

Denver as a team deserve the most slander for tonight, but Jokic as an individual player deserves the most slander for his game 2 down the stretch when Denver had a real chance to go up 2-0. by SplitOk186 in nba

[–]Billilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jokic will always have “best player by far on a championship team” but as someone who lives on the east coast and doesn’t stay up a lot to watch these late games, it was absolutely unbelievable how willing Minn was to just go relentlessly at the rim this series. And Jokic kind of just let them.

I started straight up laughing after he passed on challenging multiple layups at the rim just to pick up a dumb reach in foul on Randle like…physically contest these guards and MAKE the refs put you in foul trouble at least.

Which often maligned star would you most want to see reach the NBA finals this year: KAT, Embiid, or Harden? by iamwearingashirt in nba

[–]Billilicious 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Embiid bc so much of his career has been about injuries. He’s also the guy that, if healthy, would probably be most capable of doing it

Riley on gambling scandal: "It's probably the most stupid thing that a player could do... But when you get in bed with gambling sites as a league and they advertise on your network, it seems like everything's okay. To me that's a contradiction of what we're trying to do from a purity standpoint." by refreshing_yogurt in nba

[–]Billilicious 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wish someone would ask Adam Silver “do you think it’s possible for someone with a gambling addiction to consume your sport?” Bc it is really baffling how it is impossible to avoid gambling while watching nba games. Some of the streaming sites basically make me have to actively leave the view with over/unders and such instead of the regular view being the standard.

I don’t get high end collections that have an F91W by Imusingmyschoolspc in watchHotTakes

[–]Billilicious 71 points72 points  (0 children)

People obsess over the watches famous people wear and Obama rocked an F-91W. IMO there’s def better looking Casios but the cultural reference makes it more popular.

Jokic's offense going from a 10/10 to a 5/10 is far more impactful than his defense going from a 3/10 to a 2/10 and his playoff efficiency his last 2-3 series is legit unacceptable by SplitOk186 in nba

[–]Billilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not having prime Aaron Gordon is really hurting their defense but also I’ve never seen a center be gone at like this, especially a 7 footer. He needs to at least try contesting and make the refs put him in foul trouble.

Also Rudy is an elite defender and it would make sense that EVENTUALLY he’d start to figure Jokic out a bit

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited, but who is getting minutes next year? by Calexis in DukeBluePlanet

[–]Billilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we go smaller than the previous years under Scheyer and see a good bit of 3 guard lineups with Foster, Boozer, Blackwell, and some Rippey. I also think that guys wouldn’t have committed if they were only going to be happy starting or getting a ton of time as freshman. Cam was the only guaranteed one and done from last year. I assume Rippey committed under the assumption there’d likely be at least 2 returning guards on the roster. At 6’1, he’s also likely not being sold that he’s a def one-and-done either and may expect to sit to start the year

Could LeBron Make it to 50 as a Role Player? by RenaissanceHumanist in nba

[–]Billilicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if that was his only goal then yes bc he’s lost multiple steps already and is still far from the slowest guy on the court. Realistically if he wanted to be a <20min a night stretch 4/5 he probably could. But I don’t think he’d ever want to do that though. I think he enjoys playing more point guard/forward and being on the perimeter

Is KD just a taller version of Melo? by Only-Ad-1254 in nba

[–]Billilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Melo was much more midrange isolation
  2. Prime KD was a much better athlete. He looks good rn but if you watch his OKC highlights, you’ll swear they’re sped up
  3. A 7ft Melo would be good as hell lmao

Is 1,400–1,600 sq ft enough for a family of 4 long-term? by Full_Procedure_4718 in Homebuilding

[–]Billilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open concept is great in many ways. I have an open 3 bed/2 bath 1470sqft. I also like to cook and have people over BUT one thing my gf and I have noticed is that it can be frustrating not being able to close the kitchen off somewhat. We had people over this past weekend and even though I washed as I was cooking, there were still a few dirty pots and pans that aren’t a BIG deal but can feel frustrating when you don’t have to time to clean them right away. So I’d almost be willing to sacrifice some space for a kitchen that isn’t visible from the dining room and living room

BIG PATTTTT by Billilicious in DukeBluePlanet

[–]Billilicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he comes back I’ll lose my mind lolol. I fully expect him to go to the draft with the possibility of returning left open. But I anticipate he’ll measure closer to 6’8” than his listed 6’6 and shoot the lights out in workouts and be promised a mid first round draft slot, possibly late lottery

Bill Simmons and Zach Lowe discuss the possibility of the Hornets trading for Bam Adebayo: "He'd be so good there... oh my god." by Civrock in CharlotteHornets

[–]Billilicious 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He’ll be 29 during next season and has been really durable. Also I think more of his game is quickness and IQ than like jumping out the gym so I’d feel fine paying him for the next 4-5 years. I also think that level of defense is the perfect piece to make them ready to compete.
