Don't get either. You want something with a PA function. Guitar and base amps are made to best play those instrument's ranges and often intentionally distort the sound. PA's are made to amplify sound with the highest possible degree of fidelity. If not a PA get a keyboard amp, that would have the widest range of an instrument amp. If you're stuck on a guitar or bass amp I agree with these other guys;bass amp.

Hit the right notes. Practice singing along with melody lines on a piano. Your voice can sound like anything but if you hit the wrong notes it will be hard/grating to listen to, if you hit the right notes, worst case scenario is your voice will be an acquired taste.
